The American way to break up a fight is to repeatedly stab the other guy until your guy wins.

@[email protected] We’re playing 4D chess.

@[email protected] Shush, they might be listening… this could foil our ingenuous plan.

@[email protected] Goodness, those Meta folks must be really foolish, huh? Looks like they’re stepping straight into our trap.

:awesome:👍

Not partnering with trillion-dollar, people-farming, human-rights-eroding, and democracy-destroying surveillance capitalists like Meta should be the lowest of low bars when it comes to organisations that purport to work on ethical technology but, clearly, even that bar is just too fucking high for some.

@[email protected] Indeed, and as you should: as they’re partnered with Meta.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

@[email protected] Ah, you meant the Social Web Foundation itself, not my post; gotcha :)

@[email protected] Did anyone say they’re not on the fediverse?

@AstaMcCarthy Do you even know me? :)

@[email protected] I’m on 46.4 – so they likely removed that.

Is Google implemented in 47?

Ah, this is because Mozilla Location Services is dead (I guess it wasn’t AI enough). And now GNOME are considering Google – because, why not? Nothing wrong with Google, amirite?

Really love how GNOME Settings links to this excellent page on Mozilla’s privacy policy for location data.

Oh nice, partnered with Meta.

You know, these guys:

FFS, why is everything so shit? Is it too much to ask that you folks don’t involve yourselves with these assholes one fucking time?

I can’t believe they canceled this cancer conference for adopting Mozilla’s business model.

Native support for ed25519/x25519 in the browser would be a huge step forward for in-browser/client-side cryptography.

Looks like Google is holding up our ability to use it in production.

(Firefox and Safari both have support enabled by default.)

The latest US arms sale to Israel alone was worth $20B. There have been over 100 sales since Oct 7.

That’s a lot of money, profit, and jobs.

How many American families make all or a portion of their living from the Israeli-American genocide of the Palestinian people?

@DodoTheDev @Lokjo @librewolf @Vivaldi Yeah, although I just read that they’re using the manipulative “Maybe later” pattern in at least one of their dialogs so that would be a good thing to fix for the future (I’m using Vivaldi too as my default browser.)

The opposite of “Yes” is “No”, not “Maybe later.”

@Bro666 @[email protected] @[email protected] Which would make perfect sense if I had said “Plasma forces you to use Firefox.” Would you like any other straw men to rile against?

[–] [email protected] -1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

@Aaron @[email protected] @[email protected] Yes, to non-private defaults. Let’s put it this way: if Firefox’s defaults respected your privacy, Mozilla would go bankrupt tomorrow.
