I was about to post the same news :) . The effects of climate change is right here right now. Hottest May and now wettest June :(

Finally relief from the heat. Knowing the competency of BBMP, I can safely say we are gonna have submerged roads instead of pothole ridden ones for a while.

And hopefully less accidents!!

One of the better things to do for children in Bangalore. The tickets are cheap and the production is quite high quality. Shows are both in English and Kannada .

Population reduction will cause a lot of interim pain but might be what we need to increase the sustainability of the planet. In next 70 years, we might see a drastic reduction in populations of china and India as well. The lower human population will hopefully allow the planet to recover from the last 100 years uncontrolled resource extraction.

From the article it seems there is a plan to increase the fleet size. Metro is probably eating into BMTC ridership for obvious reasons like being faster for one. BMTC might be in wait and watch mode. Hopefully any new buses inducted will be electric.

What are the things your are interested in? There is an aerospace museum near Marathahalli if you are interested in planes and such. If you are interested in Amusement parks Lulu mall has an indoor one. Nearby Bangalore there are many temples which are historical. Bhoga Nadhiswara, Rangasthala near devanahalli along with Nandi hills will be good. Nandhi hills is good for sunrise , sunset and can be underwhelming during other times. If you are willing to venture further our, there are treks like devarayana Durga. Hope you enjoy your stay

I believe the law allows for mobile street vendors but not while encroaching the public spaces. While I sympathize with the vendors who are probably just trying to eke out a living, public spaces being used for private uses must be curbed. Atleast monetized in the worst case.

I heard it died during the operation to capture it. Poor creature :(

We are desperate people but no one can force anyone to work more than legal limit. Enforcement of existing regulations alone will help. However for executive roles like IT, there is no max. But since it's knowledge work, hours can be flexible. That's what these guys are trying to exploit.

[–] aragon 2 points 8 months ago

I don't think India is divided. Noone will work more than required if given an option. IT folks might end up spending more hours in office but do less work when forced to do more hours. For other non executive work, it is clearly against the law. If folks want longer hours then they should start paying per hour. This will allow folks who need the money to pick up extra hours. Even then 70 hours is impossible.

I use ACT but haven't faced such major outage. However when power goes off my router disconnects and rejoins which takes around 5 mins. May be raise an escalation with ACT to see if they can provide power backup to their switch?
