Soviet Union was big, included many states. Socialist economy imploded, Soviet Union became Soviet non-union. States declared sovereignty as independent countries (mass brexits, kinda?).

Russia, who used to be able to socialize assets from all the smaller countries, wants to be able to socialize the assets again, and as a bonus, is salty because some of those countries are hooking up with NATO, which is by and large a union of capitalism...

Instead of trying to create a union again, and getting others to join via diplomacy or negotiation, Russia is just trying to press its neighbors into joining the reformed union via military occupation, and hit a slight snag with Ukraine, because all this shit is a little too recent for Ukraine to have forgotten how shitty a lada is.

Ok... There's a whole lot of fuckedupedness in Trump's statement, and in this comment section...

The "war" he's suggesting does in fact exist, it's a real thing, but the intended targets are Christian by happenstance... The persecution involved isn't persecution of a group being identified as Christian, it's persecution of a group identified as what is probably best described as "trumps circle".

He's projecting persecution of himself, and his close associates, to a religion that isn't the actual target at all...

It's a complete head fake... A sham... And everyone's addressing it as though they already accept that it's an actual fucking thing, on both sides... Y'all are commenting on this as though Christianity is actually relevant... It's not... The blue team isn't persecuting Christianity, they're persecuting trumps crew, who just happen to be Christians...

C'mon guys... Don't buy this fat fucks bullshit... There's enough people that'll do that on purpose already ;)

To describe phenomena on the scale of atoms, we use the second great theory: quantum mechanics, which differs from general relativity in basically everything. It uses flat space-time and a completely different mathematical apparatus

It's weird to me, that the common method of attempting to describe a four dimensional thing is to immediately reduce the three dimensional thing to two dimensions...

The word "curved" is problematic for the concept of space-time because it invokes one or two dimensional thought. Space-time is a four dimensional model.

The best description of the effect of gravity on space-time on my opinion is actually a joke... Gravity sucks :)

Yeah, I'll go with that actually.

Is there a pool going anywhere on what state is the final holdout? My money's on Idaho :)

Yeah, it's funny and nobody had mentioned it, so I did ;)

Well then you've inadvertently created a wonderful throwback to a dying literary device.

Have you read animal farm, by Orwell? You got some similarities going here :)

Basically a girdle? Flattens out anatomy you don't want showing? I think I understood the context...

I think I'm misreading the article... I'm under the impression, based on how this is written, that they don't have any binders in the store, and the context of my entire comment was based on that :)

It's not all binders are secret squirrel mode I take it? It's just an alternative option and they have some there?

Started reading, saw possible 11 years for stealing half a mil from an old retired lady, thought "shit man, only 11 years?", then kept reading.

Fuuuuck... I'm not an ACAB, but that thin blue line shit ain't working...

I dunno man... I was pretty damned shocked by the words "Republican proposal to legalize marijuana"... Ya know? That's a little less suckage than usual ;)

Half a loaf and whatnot...

Right... But they spent $89m to prevent 104k in shrinkage...

If you're the executive at Walmart who handles loss prevention, and you put $89m into a program that reduces shrinkage by $104k, your new duty position becomes "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out". It's a gross mismanagement of public money, and while it was obviously glowed up considerably, that was what was implied In the title.

The lack of a comparison in overall losses specific to skipped fares before and after is a contemptible omission though, I'll definitely join you on that hill :)
