This is actually not true. If you are part of a "persecuted group" without access to a safe alternative location inside the country of origin, you can seek asylum in the EU.

So for example, trans people from Florida currently cannot seek asylum in the EU although they are at risk of "discriminatory and disproportionate prosecution" for using public restrooms, because there is an "internal protection alternative", in other states.

If however, federal law is passed banning trans folks from public bathroom use, it is likely that they could seek asylum in the EU.

If you have direct university loans you will be unable to retrieve your diploma until they are paid.

Should your unpaid mortgage follow you for the rest of your life? Should losing your job and not getting another one fast enough to keep up with your mortgage mean that you are indebted fo the rest of your life?

Don't forget the $8k annual tax bill that goes along with that already unaffordable house. I grew up near the area and love to visit but it's a hard place to get by for what it is, if that makes sense

Get an EV with fold flat rear seats. If you don't do too much mileage they are the cheapest leases around. Sleeping in an EV is light years better than having to leave a gasoline car running just for a bit of climate control. EVs have a giant camping battery right there with the car.

People who didn't lease will lose their shirts but the price of new cars is the primary driver for the price of used cars. New, cheap, and more useable EVs will make used ones cheap.

As to the reliability, it remains to be seen. Considering the size of a vehicle I think an aftermarket will pop up for refurbishing and replacing batteries like it has for the earliest modern EVs in the us, the leaf.

Battery prices are collapsing and we are at an inflection point where electric vehicles will soon be more economical to purchase, drive and maintain for a much greater number of people. This is as inevitable as the phaseout of coal.

There is no goddamned way UHC doesn't pressure the prosecutor to drop this to avoid that recording going public because half the jury will be left with the same sentiment when they hear it. And when it is public they will have a lot more to deal with.

If this woman's lawyers are smart they call the bluff and say "why yes, let's get this out into trial, use discovery to add context, and play that recording". There's law, justice, but the most important thing sometimes when the moment is right is perception.

Had some good Backcountry fishing here, clear shallow water and plenty of snapper. To fish and boat in everglades national park, you need the park pass (get it online), and you need to take an online boating course, which is free. In key largo, if you are north of the intercoastal waterway, you are already in everglades national park.

This spot was fairly easy to get to, but the pass coming out of blackwater sound was pretty shallow at around 2ft, so be careful on the way in. Watch for manatees in the area as well.

If you have a draft more than about 24", best approach is from the channel side from the south, or from offshore side. Shallow reefs inshore of sandbar area. Best conditions are at negative tide with seas <= 1ft reported at Molassas Reef. Expect approximately 3-5ft depths at shallowest spots, so bring floats for short people and those who aren't swimmers. Bottom is coarse white coral sand.
