Welcome! Glad to have you here. I I hope it stays stable for a long time. I have Huntington's Disease and (Lupus??) It depends on who you ask. My neurologist and PCP said yes, rheumatologist said no. So I get no treatment for it but to try and exercise as tolerated. I have great pain management doctors but I'd rather treat a cause than a symptom, ya know?

I agree with you and I feel like I should have taken the time to discuss the post before I removed it. Misinformation is against the sitewide rules so I jumped on it, but you're right. It was a lost opportunity to educate someone.

Can we cool down the arguing in this thread please? Everyone has had their say and it's time to move on. Thanks!

I appreciate the help. I'm open to any ideas to get this community to a more active, state for sure. I know that if we post regularly in here we increase the chances of people already on Lemmy seeing us when they sort by new posts.

I know that some posts have been auto removed for suggesting Lemmy on Reddit, but I'm not sure about bans. If you're active in a subreddit over there it may be worth it to pm the mod and see if they;re interested in checking it out or maybe partnering with us over here if things continue to go south on Reddit. I'm happy to share this space with anyone and add Reddit mods as mods here if they'd like that.

I wish I hadn't already deleted my Reddit account that had 13 years of history on it. I'could have helped out over there.

Click on the "Communities" link at the top of the page, and search for the word "cat" or "dog". You'll see all sorts of communities to follow. Some are newer and still getting their bearings and some are quite active already.

It currently works with the official mobile site. It would be great if it were more like old reddit but I just opened it for the first time and it's miles better than using Chrome on mobile for me just because of the ad blocker and ability to keep the feed from suggesting random shit.

It sure is. It was much more buggy in the past but I don't really see many issues now. My husband uses the official FB app and he complains about issues with it all the time. I think the number of bugs is comparable. I used to sometimes not have many comments load if I didn't manually refresh but he had the same issue on his app at the time and refreshing didn't help. I don't use social media other than FB and all I really want is to see my family and friend's posts sorted by Most Recent, and a few news profiles I follow, so it's good enough for me.
