Robots are key to modern manufacturing you still need support staff but the number of people needed has gone down substantially.
Any new factory can be designed to be run dark its generally too expensive to justify for now.

IMO the biggest issue with aerospace industry is brain drain from both boomer retirement, much better options for new aerospace engineers besides Boeing.
Thats the trump special with less charisma and allies.
