I use Obsidian with the obsidian-live sync docker container to sync data between devices instantaneously. It is not open source but they store plaintext markdown notes and its extendable with plenty of open source plugins.

Fuck Trump and everything he stands for, but I wouldn't be sad seeing TSA's security theater recede.

Most things don't make me tear up but this definitely does.

OK. I'm sorry you asked?

And maybe patience to power through a lack of documentation.

Lol, the cool thing is you don't have to use flatpak. If there's only a flatpak you could package it yourself. Flatpak has way more benefits than just being boiled down to GUI first...

I'm happy to call names if what I see literally falls under the definition of elitist.

Good, the cool thing is that distros for newbies or power users exist. They just want utilities making these actions more accessible. Being elitist serves no one in the long run.

I faced that for an extended time after graduating with a Bachelor's. There were so many jobs asking for impossible experience, or jobs vaguely related to my field at exploitative pay that required a Bachelor's. I did manage to find a decent job (still shit pay) but only because of a connection.

For my college, tuition would not be impossible with an ok job. When I read the headline I read it more as younger people seeing college as a scamthat can't even get you a job after the ordeal of all the schoolwork and money lost.

Despite free speech supposedly legally allowing protests and demonstrations there is still a real risk of being imprisoned.

My point is even "free speech" is not total free speech in the United States for example. There are still compromises in free speech so we may preserve order. Allowing free speech to that extent lets these movements flourish.

[–] Wolfram 34 points 3 months ago (10 children)

No, fuck off with your take. That is free speech taken to a literal extreme. Allowing free speech to this extent encourages fascist and Nazi movements to flourish. Nazis should feel uncomfortable or unable to express these views.

Go ahead and wait for the U.S. to implement a viable system. I'd bet it'll be longer than our lifetimes before that even happens. And that's ignoring what is probably the desire of keeping the status duo of a broken two party system like this.
