Mmm squeeky texture, my favorite.

I definitely don't think something like that should be used to only show one emotion though. If AI were used to control content based on how it makes people feel it should try to balance, not control how we feel. Give us an equal amount of everything.

It's not good to cloak ourselves in only feelgood stories and lies that sound nice and ignore all the bad stuff just because an algorithm wants us to feel nice and cozy. If no one cares about the bad stuff, the bad stuff gets worse.

Good for them. Seeing that shit so early in life desensitized too many people in my generation in the worst ways and that's the last thing humanity needs right now.

I normally hate these kinds of comics but this has hit a special balance of random and weirdness that is just perfect. 🀌

Which instance did you try for that? Lemmy.world definitely didn't have a new reddit feel to me but I can't speak for the others.

I've seen there are some front-ends for desktop that you can use and there are some that make it look like old reddit. I haven't used any of them but you can try this one:

https://mlmym.org/lemmy.world/

I think you can just replace lemmy.world with whatever instance you use.

Can I ask why? I've felt the browser experience is significantly better than any app I've tried so far. At least for lemmy.world it is.

So this community openly supports Russia invading other countries and killing civilians and people beating their own kids, but spends pretty much all it's time bitching about other people's opinions? Lol what a joke.

I've had to support both in my family, apple has consistently been more of a pain. They're almost impossible to fix when they'd decide to start breaking or doing weird things. Every android is an easy fix, and no matter how bad they get there is always a fix. With apple after almost any point it's "send it in and pay for a repair or buy a new one", just like apple designs them to do.

I'd rather trust the devil I know than the devil that's better at hiding it's evil. Apple isn't some amazing perfect company that cares about you. Almost everything they do is anti-user, they just do it in a way that apple-only users think is a bonus because they've been forced into apple only products already. Not to mention their idiotic pricing.

If you think apple is somehow "trustworthy" or not just as "evil" as Google in any way you've let their marketing team fool you.

I just hope loads of the people lining up to replace them are also anti-spez and wait just long enough to make them feel comfortable before they start protesting themselves.

You're not wrong. This push to decentralize gives me some hope, but even many of the pro-decentralization people mindlessly hate blockchain technology because it's what they were conditioned to do. They can't even begin to argue their belief but god damn do they believe it strongly.

I don't have a lot of faith in the future of the internet or social media. I think it's going to continue to fracture. We'll have the centralized internet, and the decentralized internet on the fringes that the rest of us live on.

The people on the centralized services will spend all day complaining about all the awful things the centralized services do while hating on the decentralized services that fix all the things they want fixed, because that's what they're going to be conditioned/brainwashed to think. People are too easily tricked and misinformed, and not educated against it, for modern social media. It's just too fucking easy to manipulate people.
