What are your qualifications for estimating the amount of time it takes to investigate thousands of people and manage thousands of trials while building a case strong enough to convict a president that owns judges?

I agree but just want to mention the DOJ did try to prosecute, it was Trump’s judge that delayed the case. The DOJ was moving forward on the case the whole time while managing all the cases for the other insurrectionists and investigating the thousands of people involved.

He literally built a case and tried to prosecute. Trump and Trump’s judge delayed the case. The DOJ was consistently moving forward while managing all the cases against all the insurrectionists. There were thousands of people involved in the January 6th insurrection all of which had to be investigated because going after the most powerful person in the country is not something you do half cocked.

You trying to explain that progressives are better at winning elections, while they are losing elections:

Clearest example is choosing not to prosecute Trump to the full extent because it might’ve “set a dangerous precedent”.

This is a strawman. Trump hasn’t been prosecuted because he has used his cult to escape justice time and time again. Scapegoating democrats for Trumps actions is a crazy level of gaslighting.

Trump has indefinitely delayed his Jan. 6 criminal trial. Hundreds of his supporters haven't been so lucky.

Let me know when progressives start winning elections.

We know that GOP run ads to paint democrats in a negative light. They do this because it sways the opinion of voters to not vote for democrats. To pretend that that same cause and effect doesn’t exist when progressives do it is delusional.

If progressives knew how to reach people then they wouldnt be a minority in our government. Let alone a minority inside of the Democratic Party that you claim they are better than. But they are. Because they don’t know how to reach people. Making your claims inherently false whether you want to admit it or not. So you will continue to be wrong about that until progressives hold the majority of positions in our government.

The unanimity behind the assassination of the UnitedHealth CEO is just a sign of how bad our healthcare system is. Democrats are the only ones who have made improvements on our healthcare system. Unfortunately they weren’t able to do more because they had to compromise with the rest of Congress to get anything at all passed.

If progressives were any good at reaching people then they would have more seats in Congress and we would have a single payer healthcare system right now. But we don’t. Why don’t we? Because we don’t have enough progressives in Congress. Why don’t we have enough progressives in Congress? You guessed it! Because they don’t know how to reach people or win elections.

Progressives can’t even reach enough people to hold a majority inside the Democratic Party that you claim is unsellable.

There was never a question of whether a populist message can sell across the spectrum. That wasn’t even part of our conversation. By definition it will always be popular across the spectrum.

The conversation was about whether the criticism from progressives towards democrats sowed apathy in voters and whether that apathy decreased votes for democrats.

So you’re one of those “both sides are the same” bad actors.

I haven’t insisted on anything just calling out a bad faith argument. That seems to get you worked up. Especially when I called out your ridiculous conspiracy theory.

There is no politics without corporate influence anywhere in the world. Even without citizens united businesses will try to influence government. Same with military. Trump is filling every office position with billionaires and foreign actors and your trying to pretend both sides are the same. If you wouldn’t pardon your own son in the same situation then you’re a shitty father. Any damage done by any administrations will effect all administrations. Democrats have passed climate change legislation while the GOP denies it’s existence and you claim they’re the same. Inflation has been trending down for the past few years but will now start going up again because of tariffs thanks to Trump. But you claim both sides are the same in bad faith.

Sounds like you drank the qanon kool-aid.

Ya I’m sure the democrats wanted Trump to delay his trials and become president to secure the safety for their children. Because that’s what lizard people do when the earth is flat.

[–] UsernameHere 4 points 1 week ago

Trump has delayed almost all of his trials. Not democrats. You scapegoating democrats for Trumps actions helps the GOP.

Judges made the decision to delay the trials on Trumps request. Not democrats. You’re doing the GOPs work for them.
