My wife and I may be part of this. They denied her 2 week hospital stay for preeclampsia and subsequent delivery as “unnecessary” and we foot the bill for the $17k stay

It wasn’t shiny like that article claims it to be, though that may be because it climbed out of a sink drain. Who knows what was on it. However it does look very close.

This made me look up osmoderma in Pennsylvania which linked me this:

This looks exactly like it, and is what you linked. So I think your spot on since it doesn’t seem to need to be iridescent. Thanks for answering! (Sorry for the late reply. I stepped out for a bit like 20 minutes after I posted this)

There are more than just plants and animals. Mushrooms are neither plant nor animal. Fungi are their own classification

Make them drool early sounds like it’s advocating for pedophilia. That’s not just off putting that’s out right sickening.

Tried this at work the other day. Apparently this doesn’t work in call centers… anyone hiring?

Would this make a good tomato sauce? You mentioned them not keeping well due to splitting at the top, but if they were to be smashed/blended/strained quickly and are producing hundreds per day then you should be able to make a good sauce over a season right?

Can’t fail if it doesn’t hit the floor. It will get caught in limbo. This will be the last we hear of this

If it is it’s close. Anything over 26,000 lbs is automatically CDL which this looks close to.

Further anything over 9ft wide or 13’6” tall is automatically an oversized load. Oversized load drivers are required to have a permit for every trip and the requirements to get hired to get those permits are pretty high. No history of drug or alcohol addiction (even if recovered) 20/40 vision with a 70° field of view in both eyes. As well as being experienced in driving for several years at least already. The weight is iffy. But this looks pretty wide. I’m fairly certain either the height or weight puts this into oversized load territory.

We’re already there. I know of 2 California’s, an Indiana, and countless Washington’s that are not the states.

There are tons of style scripts so I’m sure someone has come up with something there. As for an actual interface change, there is no official API yet so apps are just scraping data and stuff until one is built. I’m testing with Artemis now and it’s looking promising. It’s inspired by Apollo, so it doesn’t feel quite like Reddit, but I think something will come along.

I don’t feel like this is a 1-1 comparison with the XMPP issue.

With XMPP users joined servers and then Google started working with the protocol allowing those users contact books to increase by hundreds overnight. Then when Google dropped, many people built work connections through those chats and still wanted to talk so they migrated to Google as it was the simpler platform.

But fediverse isn’t about talking to individuals for the most part. Mastadon gets the closest, but even then it’s about following updates and quickly getting ideas out to large groups, not the 1-1 communication of a chat. Fediverse is mostly about talking in communities. When threads defederates after getting a bunch of users, those users will lose entire communities instead of just a couple individuals that can switch platforms. And asking a community of hundreds to move to your preferred social isn’t how it works. People go towards communities, not companies. When threads defederates (which will happen) they will lose members, many communities will drop in membership, but I think the fediverse will be in the same spot after that it would be in if threads never existed. Not the same as today. But if we ignore threads and try to project the growth out 5 years. That’s where I think we’ll be if threads defederates in 5 years.
