This product is not for you, individual consumer. This is for corporations who don't want the overhead of managing individual PCs and everything that can go wrong with them, instead relying on virtual workspaces and roaming user profiles.

I feel like this is something everyone says but how often does this actually happen? Not often I'd guess, unless the police officer is bored, or it's at an hour where they're out looking for drunk drivers anyway

Mastodon has a pseudo-algorithm (sort of, unless there's a better name) in the Search/Explore -> Posts view, which shows you posts that are trending on your instance. I wonder if Lemmy can come up with something similar based on your instance activity

Given the crossover of people displaying "thin blue line" flags with those showing "thin red line" flags (which is stupid, who is against the fire department??), and with their success in harassing corporations into dropping DEI initiatives, I wouldn't put it past right-wing crazies to try bullying their fire departments into ignoring incidents for their progressive neighbors
