I get that clickbait is a thing, but as a community focused on Technology it seems pertinent to consider what the experience of different people in this area is like.

Should we pretend it doesn't happen so that the journalists don't "win"? It is upsetting to know that this happens, but I don't see how we "lose" by being informed. This isn't someone trolling on social media, it's the reality of the world we live in.

We can be less bigoted than the past while also having a long way to go still. You could even count as a sign of this improvement that these issues are taken seriously and discussed rather than ignored as "just the way things are".

But we can't take it for granted, because progress is not guaranteed and equality can decline. Say, such as the matter of abortion rights in the US and consequently how pregnancies are policed, leading to possible arrests even for natural miscarriages.

If you acknowledge that we aren't finished fighting bigotry, I don't really understand what's your concern here.

The division was there already, some just didn't notice it. If you think we'd do better united, maybe consider challenging the sexists and other bigots creating the division.

It reminds me of MLK Jr denouncing the "negative peace which is the absence of tension" as an obstacle to true equality, as opposed to the "positive peace which is the presence of justice".

I was laughing at the ridiculous over-the-top mood whiplash of sad cute animals assembling guns in a sweatshop. I though it would be a so-bad-it's-good meme game, but seeing people starting to show gameplay and reviews now it's actually starting to look good.

Edgy nonsense aside, I've been wishing for a creature collector game with farming and base building since Pokémon Emerald gave me a taste of that. This one might be what I'm looking for.

I used to hate subscription games with a passion, but seeing what followed, in-app purchases, lootboxes and FOMO-driven battlepasses, turns out subscriptions were the lesser evil.

Feels like at some point it's like an addiction. Folks got enough money to enjoy the rest of their lives doing anything they want and leave plenty to their families, but they gotta make number go big. They should go play Cookie Clicker or something, instead of ruining society.

The problem are the investors and executives that are there solely to suck money, that don't care about quality or sustainability and will instantly jump ship as soon as they finish destroying the company, to latch on the next thing.

To them it's not good enough for a business to be stable, it's not good enough for it to be profitable. No, it has to be always more profitable than before, infinitely. If they reached the limit, then they will take it apart to get more money.

Sounds logical but governments still seem to care to protect corporate IP while they don't give a single fuck about customer ownership rights.

This is why digital media corporations make up convoluted agreements but they don't ever change the little button saying "Buy". If more people realized they are not actually purchasing and getting to own it, they wouldn't spend their money.

But it's even more revolting that the law and governments validate this obvious false advertising.
