This post is insane. Sometimes I feel like Lemmy is an echo chamber for the maniacal. I rented for nearly 10 years of my life because I didn't want to own a place and be tied down. Not everyone wants to be a homeowner. Once I got to the point that I wanted a home I bought one... And guess what, I save money every month on my mortgage versus renting. Renting is a convenience, home ownership is not dead... People buy up the houses near me faster than they can build them.

To be clear I never said that I didn't care about an individual's safety, you inferred that somehow from my post and quite frankly are quite disrespectful. I simply stated that autonomous vehicles are here to stay and that the technology will improve more with time.

The legal implications of self driving cars are still being determined and as this is literally one of the first approved technologies available. Tesla doesn't count as it's not a SAE level 3 autonomous driving vehicle. There are some references in the liability section of the wiki.

Who said there was no safety authority involved? I thought it was part of the 4 level system the government decided on for assisted driving.

You must know some rich Americans. 2 days off of work is quite a bit more expensive than flying.

Is not always this simple though. If the window has yet to be spawned in some languages the width will be unavailable, until after. Sometimes the window can be seen before it moves to the center which is a bit jarring.

Who exactly is the target audience for this? Home users running Windows server? This would get flagged for sure in an enterprise environment and no self respecting admin would ever install something like that.

The Toshiba x300 is a consumer drive, the drive they are offering is an enterprise grade storage drive. I have only bought enterprise or nas speed drives in the past. Consumer drives may not be built to the same standards.

I'm running Raid z2;and have considered even z3 which should be plenty of redundancy for older drives. Well that and backing up data to a separate location.
