I totally get that, but I know my neighbor has had a few falls this year and after a recent surgery isn't supposed to do much physical activity while she's recovering. She's mentioned to me in the past that she struggles with this sort of thing, and she had a falling out with the friend that used to do it for her

Thanks, I think I may do this. I had been thinking about just saying something like "hey, I'm making meatballs and ran out of eggs, can I borrow one?" here or there just so she feels more comfortable in the future, like we're helping each other but this is a great idea too. Appreciate you!

I frequently stop and chat with her, so we're definitely on friendly terms. I'd consider us to be friends, we exchange holiday cards and stuff. I just don't want her to feel like she's taking advantage, but I'm always happy to help

My neighbor is in her 70s. I'm in my late 20s and live in the apartment upstairs from her, so when it snows I like to help clean off her car/shovel out her parking spot. Today she tried to pay me after I helped her. I don't want to accept the money, but want her to still feel comfortable asking for help/not feel like she's taking advantage of me. How should I go about this? Maybe ask her for something small so she feels like she's helping me too? It's never any trouble helping her with the snow removal, it never takes more than half an hour

It depends on the cafe, a cortado will almost never come in a 16 oz cup. It could if they wanted to brew up 8 oz of espresso and serve it with steamed milk, but yeah, otherwise it's just a "latte". Lattes also don't traditionally come in a 16 oz cup if we're talking about the strictest of Italian classic coffee bevarages. From a technicality standpoint, a latte is a 6-8 oz coffee drink

A flat white is like a latte but smaller (traditionally around 5 oz). It doesn't contain less espresso than a latte, just less milk. A cortado is even less milk than that, it's about a 1:1 ratio of milk to espresso. Cafes may add an extra shot for those larger sizes, but frequently it just means extra milk

That sounds awesome, I wish I could use that. Unfortunately my fiancée and I have very different sleeping habits and I imagine one of us is going to be waking up at the wrong point in the sleep cycle. Sounds like a great idea though

Shattered pixel dungeon is awesome. Definitely frustrating, and has a bit of a learning curve but it's rad. Infinite replay value

Basically what the title says, what made you choose the culinary/food service industry? Why is this what you chose to do?

This industry is brutal. I'm tearing my body apart for $16 an hour just continuously reminding myself that I'm learning a lot and this isn't forever, but man is it kicking my ass. What do you all do to unwind? Is booze/weed really all there is to help you chill out at the end of the day?
