I used to like leather wallets, but moved away from it due to my wife washing my pants constantly without checking pockets.

Currently I have a Herschel Roy canvas wallet. Kind of hefty, durable, bought it 4 years ago and there is almost 0 notable wear on it.

Because unless you plan on becoming a lobbyist, or politician, or activist nothing will change. Sitting around saying "They have to get in trouble in some manner" doesn't do anything. If you want that to happen, since they are legally protected from what you want, go make a change.

I looked up the University of Cincinnati's finances once because I never realized they were public. I think UC owns non-liquid non-realestate assets somewhere in the 30billion range. They still ask for donations, despite the fact they could give free education to every student for multiple years.

They are legally protected from the punishment of more than anything. Nothing will ever hit them with more than NOTHING.

There is a company that tried this as a start up actually. You'd adopt a tree, they'd deliver it in a big pot, then haul it back up a field after Christmas. It came marked so you'd get the same tree every year until the pot was too small, then they'd permanently plant it and give you a new tree.

It's a good idea but more expensive than I'd like, so fake tree for 20 years it is.

Not exactly related, I was a college kid looking to move out of my parents' house back in 2007. I applied for Section 8 housing as my minimum wage job at the time technically met all the qualifications for it. I wasn't allowed to receive it because I was in school at the time. You can't be poor and go to college at the same time if you wanted a place to live, apparently.

Something is way better than nothing in most cases.

I was looking to take my kids to Coney Island this year before I realized they aren't anything except the pool any more. Sad for something historic like this to close, but they were running out of time anyhow.
