Yeah it's word of mouth info so take it with a grain of salt. It very well could be the family's attempt at a cover up that's spreading through the rumor mill, it's a small town in South Georgia after all.

I accidentally got stuck in combat with an invincible cat (youtu.be)
 

I was trying to talk to Grub but it wouldn't let me. I saw the option to Throw so I obliged and tossed it at Shovel. There was one witness who didn't appreciate that but then the guards turned on her and the cat.

I loaded the game after the video cuts and tried it again, this time fleeing from combat but the guards get stuck attacking Grub forever :(
