Yeah, their content is great. I loved their recent reviwes of 2.5G switches. It's making me want yo upgrade my home office to get better comms between just the devices in there. No point for rest of the house just yet.

I've got 5 Dell Optiplex machines in my cluster, it's probably a bit overkill but I just can't seem to stop myself buying them when they're available for around £100!! LOL

Thanks. I think most people only have 1 or two and they just stack them on top of each other!! LOL

Thanks, the frame is self designed and made. I found a cool company here in the UK that will supply the extrusion in any length required so I planned out the frame, worked out the lengths I needed and ordered it from them. It's all 2020 extrusion and I think it's 4x 200mm, 4x 300mm, 4x 400mm & 2x 360mm. all held together with L corner brackets. The 3D printed parts were designed in Tinkercad.

If you follow the Printables link there's a basic description of the design and parts.

Feel free to ask questions if you want more information.

I listen to a lot of Sci Fi so my favorite's are the usual suspects!!

  • Ray Porter (although I sometimes find I mix up characters from one series to another as he makes them sound the same)
  • R C Bray (His voice work is awesome, currently working my way through Ex Force and I can tell each character just from the way he voices them, without having to wait for the "...said X" )
  • Jefferson Mayes (It's been a while since I last heard a book he's done but The Expanse was excellent, looking forward to DCC soon)
  • Wil Wheaton (I know this is polarising because of the updated version of The Martian, but I found him really good for Ready Player 1 & RP2 (not so much the second book though!!) and his reading of John Scalzi's books)

Mine top 5 are, in no particular order:

  • The Martian (I prefer this to PHM as I feel it's a story that is a realistic possibility)
  • The Interdependency trilogy (I wanted more books, more time in this universe)
  • Expeditionary Force (OK, it gets a bit samey in the middle books and there's the dire full cast novella, but I feel they're great overall. Not finished the series yet but heard some dislike for the final book)
  • Bobiverse (I was hooked from the beginning, yes book 4 is a bit of a departure)
  • The Expanse (Simply the best hard sci fi, grounded in reality, but the final few books do go a bit off tangent)

Honorable mentions to:

  • Recursion (Just such an intriguing concept)
  • Dark Matter (I wish I could listen it again without knowing the plot)
  • Old Mans War + most of the sequels (I'm a big fan of all of John Scalzi's work)
  • Project Hail Mary (OK, this could have been in the top 5 but I prefer The Martian!)
  • Hell Divers (A great start but got a bit silly in the last few books)

I could name so many more, but seeing as I'm listening to about 30 books per year it's hard to remember them all.

Thank you. the stupid thing is I thought for ages on a naming theme. All my Raspberry Pi's (currently 20 of them!!) are named after objects in the Solar system so I wanted something different. LOL

I've got a Dell SFF that I use for testing that I've named "peaches" but I'm not adding it to the cluster and the Wyse 3040 is named "draper". LOL

Thank you. I wasn't aware of the 12 hour cut off, I just assumed that because the app said it was on then it should be doing something.

I also posted this on Reddit and got some arsey replies, and effectively told to RTFM!

Yes, he's gone from being 1 point off the championship lead to more than 2 wins behind in the space of 3-4GP's!! I think that whole "king of the streets" thing has affected him.
