And the Democrat party has no blame worth mentioning. No sir, they ran the perfect platform, perfect messaging, perfect policies. It's them damn non voters. The Dems should run the same playbook again in all it's glory. And if it don't work again then by God, the world just isn't ready for its glory yet and we should keep that ship steady as she goes until it is, ungrateful ass non voters be damned. Yessir.

Get a history degree. Beat you to it. Teaching your children too.

UK conquered effectively the entire world. They are literally the source for global capitalism as it exists. If your hangup is "well, UK didn't really start capitalism" then your on a semantic that makes any further argument with you disingenuous, either due to you willfully manipulating the conversation or ignorantly being unable to comprehend what is being said. Either way really.

And theres the rub. You are willing to grant this system that HAS committed great evils every kinda leeway in the book. You'll handwave away any kind of evils it has committed as "well those things just happen, and its not really capitalism as a systems fault" but when it comes to communism you will do away with those same excuses. So lets play the game where no system has excuses, count the bodies and then compare then? Or we excuse both for their human failings, count the bodies and compare. Either way you cut it, capitalism comes out worse, so you wont do that. You'll excuse the one and not the other. It's the only way you can see past your bodies.

Go out and ask your local starving homeless how communism has effected him before betting on anything.

Scale. It's about scale. Capitalism gave the economic incentive to take these historical evils and industrialize them to a scale not even imaginable before. A scale so large that even you, today, with the world at your fingertips are unable to comprehend, evidenced by the fact that you are currently failing to comprehend it.

King mansa musa does not compare even an iota to the transatlantic slave trade. It's not about the fact slavery was happening. It's that capitalism industrialized slave trade to a degree that was unfathomable to humanity before.

Scale. It's about scale and centralization. Sure there were slaves but capitalism made more than ever in human history. Sure there were wars but capitalism made them bigger and further away from the rich nations committing them's population.

It's about scale. It's like comparing a single thief to a crime syndicate of organized thieves and saying "well there has always been thieving"

Yes. But never with so much damage.

I did. They didn't. There's no evidence, no cameras, no one would talk. Not my partner through training, not any of the doctors, none of the nurses, none of the sergeants or lieutenant, not even the inmate. It's like it didn't happen. That's why people say ACAB. Because it is every single fucking one.

Mine didnt either. I walked out of that prison immediately after and called my dad, the person I trusted the most in the world just to have him tell me to go back inside. My heart shattered. In that moment I realized I was truly alone in this situation.

"You — against the atom, the charm and the spin. Where the whole world failed — matter failed to bend to human will; human will failed to get out of bed and tie its laces"

I'm sorry that happened to you. I wish I could be something more than sorry.

We were streaming a lil "end of the year awards" and toast walked in. She is not supposed to be upstairs so ran the moment she saw we noticed her. https://www.twitch.tv/smilingsolaris

So I want to say that I have tried to get into FFXIV many many times over a few years. I always got bounced off by how dense the dialogue is and how long it was taking to get anywhere and anything done. I would quit and come back in a few months to try again at my friends behest. The amount of times I've had to stop and google a new word the dialogue said. lol.

But I didn't want to start skipping dialogue and cutscenes and whatnot cause then what am I even playing for? So I took my time, played when I wanted and slowly made it through ARR over the course of 2 years.

And by god was it worth it. By the end I felt I really understood this world, and its people and politics. I started seeing callbacks, referencing previous quests that I had just almost forgot about. I cried when the thing that would be spoilers to talk about happened at the end of ARR. I have become attached to my grand companies and my city.

My wife plays too but they got socially anxious about all the dungeons so now they spend all their time in the golden saucer running fates. I love that they are around.

The community on Farie as well has been amazing. I have not a single bad experience. I play tank for the record and come from WoW so when I fucked up I expected straight vitriol. But never once did I ever experience any kinda toxicity whatsoever. One time I was fiddling with my settings before a dungeon labeled (hard) and accidently left battle effects on full. I load into the dungeon and my eyes glaze over with the amount of stuff flying around the screen so i ask the crew to stop and let me turn it down. They do but the healer immediately just leaves the party. The other two commiserated with me and stuck around waiting for the replacement rather than abandoning the party as well. And the new healer was cool! fun guy in the chat!

I just wanted to share this with yall. It's the best MMO experience I've ever had and I cant wait to actually be doing the MMO stuff I love like hard AF raids and endgame stuff. But i will not rush the expansions. I will continue taking it at the pace that i feel comfortable with and only hope i outpace the release of new content. I'll catch up eventually.
