How is slavery bad for capitalism?

Slavery is amazing for capitalism.

Slavery is cheap labor.

Capitalism loves cheap labor.

Most toilet bowls are made of porcelain, which is different from plain ceramic.

Heat pumps are generally easy to install since they're generally one single packaged unit.

Only hard part about installing a HVAC system is filling the freon lines from the condenser to evaporator.

Most packaged units come prefilled, and if one single unit then no worries.

Even if you got everything in place and just had a HVAC contractor to solder and fill lines if you needed a split unit. You could save a ton of money.

Otherwise any DIYer could install one

One big downside to me is that the air never feels hot or cold, just slightly warmer or cooler than current room air.

Say I'm cold in my living room. Go to thermostat and click it up a degree. Hot furnace air is now swirling around my living room making it feel much warmer. One degree on the heat pump and you might not even notice it.

Is it really from scratch if you don't raise the piglet and butcher it yourself?

Screws maybe

But you have to machine a hole in the metal for the screw to function

You know how hard it would be to drill a hole for a screw in a cave with scrap parts and no power drill?

All you need to crudely weld, probably as strong as a screw, is heat. Fire is easy in a cave.

I'd wager they could melt some metal together before devising a cave drill press.

We have no idea what metal or alloy it is. They could have an alloy that melts easily, but once hard, it adheres to other metals and practically unbreakable. Just find some scraps of that alloy to easily weld.

You're building a light saber.

Do you:

A. Weld everything

Or

B. Drill holes and thread the holes for a bolt

I'm sure they have some kind of crazy riveting technology. Is she installing screws because she wants to be able to easily take apart her lightsaber if needed?

I've snapped so many Robertson bits in my life. Screws are fine.

1 5/8" cement board screws

They used to be Robertson. They switched to Torx.

Night and day difference

Like you said, they do grip like a mofo, and with an impact driver, the bits snap.

I tried dozens of different brands of bits. Even paid top dollar for special Milwaukee ones.

I was at a point where I had to pre-drill and counter sink the screws because I was breaking too many bits.

I could probably drive a torx head one through a board

You can get a dongle that lets you charge and plug in headphones at the same time.

On a day in California, where the sun rises at 7 am PST, it would be equivalent to making it 3 pm UTC.

You think people in California are going to be happy waking up at 3 pm, going to work at 5pm-1am, then going to sleep at 7am?

People are angry that they get an extra hour of sleep one night and lose one another. 2 days out of the year.

You really think you're going to sell these people on waking up at 3 pm and going to bed at 7am?

Working hours being 9am-5pm vs 1900-0300 are just numbers.

Working hours being 9am-5pm PST vs 9am-5pm PDT are just numbers

DST just tries to shift everyone to a beneficial sun zone for a part of the year.

Depending where you live and mainly how close you are to a time zone line depends if keeping it, getting rid of it, or keeping the current system is beneficial.

Maine could be in it's own time zone as far east as it really is. The idea that Michigan is in the same time zone is absurd. Michigan should be in CST. That would drop them back an hour. If you talked to someone in Michigan they probably hate DST. Their DST should be their current standard time and then they should fall back to CST if they wanted to do the DST switch thing. They would get a lot more sunlight in the morning.
