I’ve always thought of consciousness as a bottom-up phenomenon. Less conscious things come together to create a larger consciousness.
No evidence of that, obviously. But if we’re all assuming things, that’s what I’d assume.
Is it transactional emails, one-to-many, or like a message board where people get email notifications? I’m not sure I’ll have a good answer but I suspect that context would change some answers.
The 10,000th study to show the same result. Probably need to do a hundred thousand more.
Biden should go on a Barstool podcast and say some dumb shit.
Won’t the Vera Rubin Telescope (formerly LSST) settle this? It’s going to observe the entire night sky every few nights and provide enough data to find nearby moving objects.
The main part of this that concerns me is that Mali, next door, has significant uranium mines (owned by the French, basically, due to colonialism, which isn’t necessarily justified, but it’s also for non-proliferation reasons). I don’t think France will just let Russia fuck around in Mali and that could cause a real escalation.
I didn’t really care day-to-day but it’s awful moving into/out of one or any other time you have to carry a lot. I did it when I was young without minding too much but wouldn’t even try now that I’m old enough that my knees can tell when a storm is coming.
Kara Swisher was on their board. She’s not a journalist.
And France and Spain jointly announced they’re having no trouble inspecting food imported from England because “It doesn’t really come up.”
Ok, fine. I concede the point. Replace Meta with 50 data brokers that sell “anonymized” location data on everyone who ever downloaded a free app.
Consciousness is not a computer program. Neurons don’t use binary. I’d love it if we had computers that could do squirrel things perfectly but we don’t even have that.
