Honestly I recommend ARK survival instead since they made a very open effort to support LGBT people and it's basically the same game but superior in every way. Without the plagiarism and nastiness attached.

Others have compared it to Rust, but I haven't played rust myself so I can't make any statements on that

It might be quite literally survivors bias at play. Those who didn't have the helpful person appear, died. Therefore they weren't there to report

I did try Turkish delight one time. It's okay, nothing amazing and nothing I'd eat more than one of at a time.
