Been in Colorado for the past week or so. You guys are a lot further ahead than Illinois is. Lots more bike paths and lanes, better traffic control that doesn't result in stop and go movement, overall a lot more green space in your shopping centers and in human spaces, also lots more walking areas.

Don't beat up your state too much, it's fantastic compared to mine. :'c

Ya, the original population of the world was wiped out thousands of years prior. Humans arrived on the new world in what is now known as the Exile Event during the Zero Year and branched out from there, the Blackreaver Kingdom being the oldest in the world.

As for Gleamstones, they're used all over. Private, Commercial, and Military; lots of people use them but they're still valuable due to a variety of things such as quality, type, magic-types, industrial-uses, etc. A popular usage among the upper classes of the world is jamming them into weapons to apply effects directly into weapon.

Gleamstone is a magic-mantel that can be used to store magical energy. Certain types of magic-mantels are able to store more of this energy like the emerald colored stones. The reason why they're prominent on the isles isn't fully understood, there's theories in-world that think that these magic-mantels are formed over the same course of time as other minerals but absorbed magical energy over the course of billions of years.

As for the 'natives' the natives were Blackreaver when they first showed up as the isles were originally uninhabited and were only found when Blackreaver was exploring in the early years of the new world. Divisions would occur in the centuries that followed and what exists now is a reminder of these events.

The economic interests of the larger powers would certainly influence the isles through means of war, propaganda, or cultural drifts. Many of these outside influencers would often fuel conflict on the isles by supplying weapons, medical supplies, and even mercenaries to try and gain more territory. Stuff like religion doesn't play as much of a point as everyone follows along within the same pantheon of gods. This makes the conflicts within the isles more relate to wealth for the population.

It can be, but it can also be the match to the tinder.

For about 5ish years I didn't do much with my life. Stayed home and worked and only really hung out with people online. It was fun, but never felt satisfying over long periods of time. It was only during the lockdowns that I started watching YouTube videos and realizing what I wanted to do with my life.

I started learning a second language, going back to college, riding a bike again, traveled the world and lived in another country for a short period of time, began accepting my sexuality, and am about a year out from getting my Associate Degree before I get my Bachelors.

Yes, comparison is bad but sometimes you just need to the right amount to realize that you're squandering your time on this rock and start carving a new path.

The Age of War is the first time automatic weapons such as these were deployed onto frontline combat. Needless to say, many people were experimenting. :)

I ultimately still need to use reddit for a few things, mainly a modding group from Skyrim I'm a part of and we use reddit as a sort of hub for our work, so I'm kind of stuck there until the heat death of either reddit or the project.

I do have hope for Lemmy though, but as of July 1st, reddit will lose me as part of their mobile ecosystem because I refuse to utilize that shit app of theirs.

They'll act as guards for Caravans, outposts, among other things when needed.

The heavier armor is more suited to direct conflict during war as the lighter armor is more fit for those who play the role of Archer. So you'll see these guys getting into straight up hand to hand brawls because they're more of an infantry role.

I'll be staying but I'll still use Reddit on the desktop as I still do need it for a few things. I'll certainly contribute to L.W's communities though. I suspect when they finally shoot old.reddit in the face is when the overall mass exodus will occur if a better platform isn't out by then.
