Uh no you're just judging the UK based off its worst politicians and people.

Then you're judging the USA of its best politicians and people.

Don't you see how ignorant that is? The republican party isn't America to you, but the less extreme Tory party in the UK (which gains way less votes as a percentage than the republicans) represents the UK in your mind?

The UK is way tamer politically and much further from fascism. It has less identity politics, more rights for gay people, the ability to abort, and way less human trafficking. Additionally it's chiller, has more worker rights and unions per capita, it has universal healthcare.

The USA has insane levels of gun crime and homicide via guns, and it's not even close to the UK's basically non existent gun crime.

You know how Americans act like the UK has terrible knife crime? It turns out American knife crime is WAY worse per capita. All this despite the fact that the USA has so much gun crime.

And the gun crime stats don't even consider the people who weren't convicted that really should have been. For the sample, the police officers that freely shoot people, the "self defence" where guns were never necessary and shot an unarmed and harmless man, and the random stray bullets that kill people.

And then let's not even get into education and lunch money for poor students, cults, racism (and systemic racism), income inequality, and many more issues.

Don't be stupid. Criticising the UK for the reasons you've given is throwing stones from a glass house.

I honestly can't believe the ignorance you show. Do you really view the UK worse than the USA?

Then that means you misunderstood what a fortress is

Reddit migration won't happen while everyone here is an American who doesn't get European banter.

[–] Ryany -2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

What does it have to do with diversity? Lmao

No European talks like that or forces diversity into their comments

[–] Ryany -3 points 1 year ago

Why are Americans so painfully unfunny.

[–] Ryany -4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (4 children)

How DIVERSITY works?

lmaoooo I'm dying. What a ridiculous and very American thing to say.

The alcohol industry? Lmao what? Do you have a comparison to the UK?

Tbh this sub is full of cringe. Reddit is so much better, I haven't argued with anyone there, but since there's shitloads of Americans who take things seriously here it ruins it

[–] Ryany -3 points 1 year ago

Damn I guess English are assholes then.

What about Scots?

Tbh Amsterdam is a destination that some scrotes go to so I'm not surprised that some are fucking assholes.

I'm just talking about normal people in the USA who are cool when sober, middle class, and seemingly normal. Then when they're drunk they get angry. I saw this so many times. USA has a lot of angry drinks.

In the UK there is some people looking for fights, but your friend won't randomly get angry at you for no reason just because he is drunk.

My English mate in the USA didn't have the posh English accent, and everyone would ask him why he didn't sound English, then they'd do a exaggerated posh English accent (why do Americans love doing this haha) and then ask him why he sounds more like me (a Scot), he was from northern England so that's why he sounded more like me.

Then imagine how bad Americans must be.

Amsterdam is a massive destination for people from the UK. Not so much people from the USA.

Nah what? Are you kidding? The culture is absolutely as I said.

Is this sub full of salty Americans or something?

There is a clear and obvious difference between American drinking culture and UK drinking culture that ANYONE that has lived in both countries can clearly see. I mean it's super obvious in the first month or so.

And obviously it has to be anecdotal, this isn't a study lmao. Feel free to check other anecdotes online however and they will confirm what I say.

It's a famous image because it encapsulates UK binge drinking culture so well.

The man on the floor with the implication that he fell but saved his beer. The man getting arrested. The woman bitching at police to stop. The people in the background not giving a shit because it's an average Saturday night.

I think the photo even won awards haha
