Perhaps when President Musk and First Lady McDonald take power in a few days they can liberate us from this terrible fate with imports of nutritious hotdogs, Twinkies, chlorinated chicken and steroid beef.

Jaw on the floor.

Completely unrelated but why do many recent questions on Lemmy seem overly convoluted and difficult to interpret? Isn't this just a long-winded version of "What's your game of the year and why?" or am I missing something?

Anywho, Balatro I guess. Love me some deckbuilding roguelikes and it's accessible to people who don't traditionally play computer games. I also like to imagine it might be helping some gambling addicts out there fill their boots without losing all their money. It's a solid third place in the genre for me behind StS and Monster Train.

Toxic positivists: Despite the overwhelmingly depressing reality which lies before us, I'm just going to describe anyone that recognises it as mentally unwell, thus invalidating their well-reasoned opinion.

Tangential, but I don't understand why in American English you feel the need to say the word quote at all. In UK English we just use intenation.

Profit for shareholders.

You could say nothing is true and everything is possible but that would be an argument from ignorance and also a Russian propaganda technique.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

The whole poem by Dylan Thomas is fantastic but that line in particular often pops into my head during difficult times, like these.

Its gameplay is similar to Vampire Survivors. I actually prefer it because it has more characters, upgrades and synergies.

You'll need to sign up for a new account on the other instance. I'd recommend you persevere with getting a lemmy.world one and use that as your main one. Keep the one you've got in case of an lemmy.world outage.

Content is generally shared amongst the main instances so you'll generally be able to see the same stuff wherever you create an account. Most of the Lemmy apps have multi-account functionality so you can add both.

I've bounced between Lemmy apps and have found Connect to be the best so far. I particularly like the swipe actions as they free up screen space for content.

However I cannot find a way to downvote via swiping. Is the feature not available at present or is it hidden away somewhere in the settings?

This factors in some feedback loops which most sudies to date have ignored. Note, that it excludes extra warming caused by all the additional water vapour in the air.

For context, studies suggest that the largest extinction event in Earth's history (so far), the Late Permian Extinction Event, saw temperature rises of around 8°C.

The game is currently updating (earlier than usual I believe) and Man Utd official website accidently leaked the week of 3rd July.

The website does not typically go live on a Monday so my guess would be prices being dripped out on Twitter towards the end of this working week with the game launching Tuesday 4th July. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was around 2pm on a Tuesday last year.

Check your emails, seems like they might be looking for feedback as to what new features to implement for future seasons.

I thought it would be good to get a pre-season price prediction thread going ahead of the 2023/2024 season.

I will attempt to list all teams and players. Please upvote prices that you think are sensible. If the price doesn't already exist, submit a comment in response to the the player's name with your predicted value.

If it gets traction, this post could serve as an early indicator for potential bargains once the official price list is announced.

The Starfield preview got me hyped enough to finally cash in a big chunk of my points that I've been accumulating since the Series X was released.

If anyone doesn't use Microsoft Rewards I strongly recommend signing up. It doesn't take much effort to build them up.

They are slowly nerfing the program so might as well take advantage while it lasts.

NoScript Add-on (addons.mozilla.org)

NoScript add-on is great for disabling any scripts running on a page. The user can view the domains the scripts are running from and enable them individually.

At first it breaks every web page you visit but after a little time white-listing everything runs fine and it makes for much cleaner browsing.
