My money is on that being one of Spez's alt accounts

This is going to be a hefty game for sure. No doubt it will be full of bugs on release, as is tradition with Bethesda games. I'm hyped nonetheless.

It’s really growing on me. I love the idea of being able to browse and participate in communities outside of my “home instance”. Where to actually set up as a “home instance” was a bit confusing, but once I picked one I kinda just forget about it.

The crumbling state of the empire, perhaps. "Hey we know you can't afford to have kids or healthcare and homelessness has risen like 500%, but LOOK, ALIENS!!!" Same thing with the "woke" culture war shit. It gets the working class riled up about something other than their real problems.

This just seems like a psyop that the DoD is using to justify more funding for the Space Force and/or Skunkworks projects.

I joined Lemmy first because it was the first instance I discovered. I heard some folks on reddit say it was "filled with tankies" and I was like "Damn, sounds like a pretty cool place then!". I have noticed the reddit libs start to come in, but the dev/admin seems intent on not letting it devolve into a den of shitlibs like reddit is. Let's hope they stick to that. I'm not opposed to co-existing with liberals, because it's fun to dunk on them and I'm not really interested in being part of an echo-chamber, but PLEASE don't let them completely take over like they did with reddit. Thankfully most of the shitlibs seem to be contained in beehaw or kbin, for now.

I don't think the subs should go private, but rather they should just get straight-up abandoned. The admins will have a much harder time dealing with all the unmoderated content that will inevitably show up, and it will look way worse to advertisers.

From what I can tell, Kbin is like Lemmy and Mastodon combined into a single interface.

Windows 11, mostly for gaming. I also dual-boot Fedora, which now that Proton is getting so good I am considering making the full switch over. Only thing is I have an Nvidia GPU :(

Man I used to love Thunderbird back in the day. Time to give it another go!
