My top issue has been get money out of politics since I was 18 (like ~15 years ago). It blows my mind it never even cracks the top 20 for most Americans
We're simply too dumb at the moment. We need to somehow educate the population... very quickly. But we should expect anything we say to be labeled PC, CRT, woke, etc. We should pick something and stick with it and defend it - not shy away and cower as we have been doing

White American sailors got in a fight with Mexican Americans. It's unclear what started it but the following actions of American sailors provides good context. After the initial fight, sailors started to randomly target Mexican-Americans and jumping them. Of course, there was retaliation and it got really crazy - I won't spoil it for anyone interested.
The reason I mention it is because it's fascinating to see how media organizations like the LA Times covered it. They unanimously blamed "gangs" of Mexicans and didn't blame demonstrably racist American sailors whatsoever - they were obviously brave patriots, and not you know fuckin fascists

Yeah, I've just got the book "Enemy of All Mankind" which is about the period of time when the East India Co. was just getting going. Apparently that time intersects with three big shifts: the first international pirate manhunts, the start of the British Empire, and the creation of the corporation.
