I haven't seen a good AMA on that sub for over 5 years already. This, to me, is like hearing that someone shot my already dead dog. Upsetting, but I had already moved on.

I agree that censorship is bad... Except when it comes to spreading hate. The only thing we should not tolerate, is intolerance. That doesn't sound like what is being censored tho, so I'll probably not be joining Lemmy.ml.

You can be vague enough that it doesn't even tell you it's a secret boss. Or make it part of a larger achievement like "defeat all bosses."

Damn! You're right.

Please don't be me. I can barely keep track of myself as it is.

If I become a celebrity, you can dunk on me.

I'll just start making accounts for every instance on the system so nobody can ever pretend to be me. Easy. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

IDK... I was high, I saw all the 1's and it reminded me of one of the very first short films Valve put out for the game where Soldier opens a locked door with a keypad and the passcode was just "11111."

The places I used to hang out with PHPBB or similar forums never really had problems with bots. And I'm at least pretty sure they were popular places. Penny-Arcade, Something Awful, NewGrounds, eBaums World...

They also weren't a problem for small users either. Not only was there no incentive, they didn't necessarily get discovered by web crawlers. I remember wondering why my websites never showed up on search engines when I first started fucking around with webpages, web hosting, networks, etc. I hosted the server, I had a domain name, I was online and could access my site from other computers solely through the internet; but it never came up on Yahoo or Dogpile and I didn't know why. The first time I ever found my own site on a search engine, it was using a hosting site like Geocities. And that was after Google came out and I was getting archived versions of the first website I ever made.

I don't see it as a complaint so much as "how things be right now."

I tried posting a gif earlier today and it didn't even work so now I must know OP's secret.

Edit: Their secret is that I didn't notice this is actually linking to imgur because even though I have my links opening in an external browser so that only things hosted by Lemmy itself open in my app's browser, it opened in the apps browser. And the text showing where it goes is very tiny.
