currently you lose everything. I'm hoping they add a transfer tool like how masodon(i think it was that) has with transferring accounts

yes, it it designated as a shortcut on the home screen, you can tell its a shortcut because it shows the browser in the corner of it.

it's intentional by design(because its a web app) but, because of this designation it isn't able to go on the edge bar.

I've found connect though which works amazingly for what I wanna do. It reminds me of Infinity somewhat

it might be a restriction for edge apps, I can put it on my home screen but it doesn't let me drag or manually add it onto the edge app panel. I expect it's because technically it's not an app but a shortcut

My main reason? The administration team, I can understand needing money and wanting to charge for the API services, and while they were higher than normal I would have probably been okay with paying a subscription to help keep the third party app I was using running.

That was until I saw the CEOs response to the development community and anyone who remotely asked about it. That was before he absolutely butchered the ama, and before he slandered one of the largest third-party developers in the community, and then when being called with evidence the bull crap he was spreading instead decided to attack said Community member saying that he didn't realize that it was recorded and that he stands by what he said. That was before he decided to threaten the moderator teams on the platform who may I remind you was working for free as volunteers comparing them to a landed gentry.

It is very clear that what he says publicly is polar opposite of how he administrates, he may say that Reddit is an open Community where the community has final say, but his actions say completely otherwise; it's his way or the highway. And since he is the CEO of the platform I'm choosing the highway and clearly I'm not the only one.

At this point even if he decided to do a complete 180, and made a formal apology to the site and reversed the actions of the API changes(which I personally think financially wise would be unwise they should have funneled it into Reddit Gold somehow) I wouldn't go back, it's clear how the leadership is on the site and quite frankly that's not something I want to contribute to.

I want to use wefwef but, it's strictly a web app, so I can't place it in my sidebar/quick launch and I dislike having things on the homescreen

They also blocked rating the app on mobile, I had to go online and rate it via google's site, and im not sure it actually stuck.

idk about others but, I left that site because I don't agree with their policies, I would much rather have a mirror then give the site more traffic.

thank you for posting this, it annoys me to no end the amount of "omg this happened now on reddit" posts that link to the source on reddit. Like that defeats the purpose of leaving the platform if I'm forced to go back anyway and give them traffic. Make a mirror, stop giving the site more traffic lol

Pulling a card from googles playbook, Google pulled searching capability from AU when they did that, it lasted a full week then they bailed on it and turned it back on again. I am pressing X to doubt when facebook says that they have no financial value in "news sources" which is why they are making the change.

Worst case scenario publishers get more money and information gets vetted better... I see this as a win-win for consumers.
