Lovecraft wrote archaically even for his own time. He had some really interesting ideas, which is why his mythos has been used as a basis by so many other authors, but he wasn't a very good writer in a technical sense. I really enjoyed his short stories as a teenager, but nowadays I prefer seeing what IMO more talented authors can do with the mythos.

You're just comparing two different sets of books. I haven't read Sara J Maas but back in the 90s and auties we were getting crushed under an avalanche of Danielle Steele, Dean Koontz, and Dan Brown. If you want a contemporary fantasy author with a bit more gravitas read Catherynne Valente or Kazuo Ishiguro. Although they won't go down smooth as a beach read, maybe.

Totally in a league of her own as an epic fantasy writer IMO!

This is almost a worst case scenario to me. There was a time when I could search the internet and find long form articles written by experts in the field, or at least by knowledgeable people answering the question that I had and often giving me a deep dive. These days I can search the title of an article I know exists and it will still be buried beneath pages of SEO driven AI generated garbage. I get the feeling that many of these sites and writers shut down simply because there was no reason to generate content that would be buried.

Yes it's called restricted mode. Only whitelisted users can make posts or comments.

The town halls have been hilarious to watch. Chris Christie just laying down suppressing fire on Trump. Meanwhile Pence, a man who Trump nearly had publicly executed, gives the most mild admonishments. I remember when Pence was afraid to get into a USSS car because he didn't know the driver and thought they might be taking him to be quietly assassinated . How do you even stay in the same party after that?

Right, "ketchup doesn't belong on a burger" is a wild hot take.

I don't understand, why accountant? That's a weirdly specific cover story to be so common that it repeatedly comes up.
