Sadly, I think this is widely true about people in general. Actually commiting to change is so much harder than expressing dissatisfaction with your current state.

I love your take. As a business major and professional I fully understand the need to make money. But I won't be defend any action of reddit's upper management in the past month.

To think they could've charged a reasonable price for API access... Reddit would've surely made a good amount instead of driving users away.
