Mid 30s, US. First car was a manual, but I have an automatic now. I do miss it, but I probably drive much safer now that it's less fun. Even though it was just a beat up old passat I always felt like I was in forza driving the manual

Instead of using the wax paper, get a large zip lock type bag. Cut it in half along the seams to make a sheet of plastic and then use that between the press and the tortilla. I usually rub the bag with a little bit of fat (lard, oil, etc) to keep them from sticking as much. It's more necessary for corn tortillas but I think it helps either way.

Where I live they legalized marijuana, but didn't issue licenses for legal dispensaries for almost two years. Nearly every corner store and head shop is a front . There's even a pizza shop near by with weed for sale openly.

Stay at home parent, former chef. The closest thing to tech background I have is electrician training in night school.

My wife calls it "chore-play" and it seems to really work for her. Even if its a trick, the house will be clean and everyone gets a little fun, what's the harm?

Honestly I'd start at the beginning, it's quite a fun story and I feel like a lot won't make sense if you dive into the middle. I'm a little more than halfway through. I first listened to Rouges Gambit and after that campaign was over I ended up getting really into the Aerois campaign.

Lilyhammer. Or maybe The Last Kingdom.

The Banshee of Inisherin, I really enjoyed it. Very odd and funny in an uncomfortable, uneasy way. I especially enjoyed Kerry Condon as Siobhán, her performance was a great emotional counter point to the dead pan comedy between Colm and Pádraic.

So as the title said, I'm playing Bannerlord as a Battain clan. I have progressed to a tier 3 clan, and have entered the service first of the Battain king(but he was always fighting half the world and I kept dying) and now to the Vlandian king as a merc.

My question is how to best proceed towards having my own villages or cities? I have 105 troops so I can't exactly take a whole city or castle by my self. I'm not sure what I'm meant to do. I just keep fighting in the wars that pop up then hunt looters and win tournaments, but I am not sure if thats a good strategy.

I've always wanted to learn banjo, but for some reason my brain gets so lost with 3 finger rolls. The next instrument I'm gonna try and figure out is mandolin, then I can still use my big clunky flatpick.

Here's my guitar, Martin D-16. What's everyone's favorite tunes to jam? Anything you're trying to work on these days?

I'm trying to fill out some content here but posting videos hasn't picked up much involvement or traffic. Let's get this group going with a bit of discussion.

Edit because I asked questions I didn't myself answer:

The first tune I think to play when I'm practicing is usually "Red Haired Boy" or "Salt Creek". I like to mix and match A and B parts from tunes in the same key. These are my favorite "G" warm up exercise.

I'm trying to learn how to play with more focus on melody and avoid just stringing together other people's licks.

Reaching back to my bluegrass awakening with this one. I grew up with the Grateful Dead and punk rock, Yonder was the first bluegrass adjacent group I had the pleasure to see. I still have a hard time with some of these old performances, but every once and a while I just get to missing this time in my life. RIP to the great Jeff Austin, I wish I could still see you make music.

Some great pro shot video from the Cap run a few years back. These shows were a wild time.

I first heard this story after looking up the band "Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy" and finding temperance warriors instead.

Here's the band, if anyone's interested. They're sort of like if Folk Punk had horn sections like a jazz band, super fun and chaotic.

Music @ 1:30 or so, but I love a good rambling intro from Mr. Carlisle.

This fella is hands down one of the best performers I've ever seen. Electric energy the whole way through.

Some of the finest playing, especially Sam's mandolin break. If Tony growls a quick "YEAH" after your break, you're doing something right

I stumbled across this community, and I figured I'd put in a post to help get it going. Here is Nick Shoulders with his "Empty Yodel No. 0"

Starting off today with a wonderful version of "Way Downtown" played by Bryan Sutton & Michael Daves.
