Nooo, can we just actually put someone useful in the position and see how that will help and improve things?

And then you can't get back to sleep after....

Well it always is down to something like that, but how depressing. I always think, just how much money do you need?

Also if you are a great business person, why not diversify in what clearly needs to be future tech and infrastructure?

Fincher, Fassenbender, Tilda Swinton and Trent Reznor on the soundtrack. How could this be a no?

This just keeps getting better and better!

Why are we still pushing for coal mines? I would have thought australia would be ideal for solar in certain places.

I think keeping it in people's minds is useful. Otherwise it's easy to get wrapped up in your day to day life. I've found that climate stories are often under reported here or categorised as another issue.

Looks about right for Manchester! Hail any minute now?

It does seem to have ramped up in the last few months especially. On a local level we are really struggling to grow food (in our gardens) due to such bizarre weather and that is a tiny example of the effect.

Absolutely couldn't agree more. Live greener, contact your politicians and become active with your local Environmental groups. I think it would be great if you mention how to find people/groups here for everyone to see!

While this is true in the sense that they are usually swayed by money. Local elections and representatives are important and often listen more to people contacting them as they need the support and are closer to the ground. In essence these people arent elected without public support, so make your opinions known to them.

It does feel like that but I care in my small way, it's all we can do is make small changes and contact our representatives. I've linked a template letter you can send to your representative or MP in my comment on this post.

What has everyone got for their dad's, who are usually particularly hard to buy for?

Also, to add a caveat, totally fine to have a complicated relationship with your dad. If this is the case, please be kind to yourself and ignore this post!

Unfortunately I downvoted what I thought was a bot yesterday and now the post is showing up in my profile under boost. It's not the kind of content I want attached to my profile and removing the downvote hasn't done anything.

I think it's a known issue but the boost tab in the profile seems to be a bit buggy and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?
