Not to be a pedant, but how exactly does Amtrak plan on renewing that “diesel”? I was expecting to see some kind of carbon sequestration for the way they’ve marketed it, not just toss some fry oil in the tank and call it a day

Almost certainly this is for fraud detection purposes. It’s the same reason it’s used at tiktok. Scammers try to spin up fake devices to spam content but very often don’t have the correct screen density for their faked device in the early stages of a platform.

The Feynman Technique isn’t related to Richard Feyman. The guy that wrote a book on it said he named it because he admired Feynman, but probably just because he could capitalize on the hype of that name
