This article wasn't exclusive to game informer - it was all over my news feeds from many sources, just absent from the subreddits & Lemmy communities in this investment path's orbit.

My wild speculation is that Microsoft is releasing many titles and studios from exclusivity because there will be a universal game marketplace. Such a marketplace would have to have 2 of the 3 major console platforms on it, and as such would have to be operated by an independent 3rd party...

Public key cryptography is absolutely not exclusive to Bitcoin, and appending your title with "Bitcoin" is quite the blunder. PKC is the basis of (almost) all encryption of server-client communication, such as web traffic. That HTTPS in front of https://lemmy.world? That's PKC. Bitcoin too, sure, but also every other cryptocurrency/token out there as well - including NFTs. It is quite interesting that we can partially thank Dr. Tits for an element of what has become a foundational component of so much modern tech, but in the context of this community I'd say its more relevant to attribute Jacque to the former Gamestop NFT Marketplace & Playr.... OR whatever comes after.

This book was published after the planned cancellation of the NFT marketplace. One of the primary questions in my mind is why has GME seemingly abandoned all NFT & crypto-related endeavors? NFTs are the perfect solution for the ability to resell digital games, which is Gamestop's legacy bread & butter. With Microsoft's recent reveal of a disc-less Xbox future (and Sony rumored as well), something has to be brewing - with or without Microsoft or Sony.

Yes, I copy & pasted the same comment from the PPShow community, because you posted this there too.

Although it'd be poetic justice & would force the general public into awareness of the fraud at play, we have to assume anything which happens must be of service to the new company - they won't just give away equity as a gesture of goodwill. A credit bid or legal decree could catalyze a chain reaction which leads to a black swan event, but anything outside of "business justification" or precedent will present a legal (or legislative) liability; IE, a loophole to shutdown the ensuing madness.

The ongoing fraud investigation presents a massive "undo" button for this entire mess, though. If fraud is determined to be a cause of BBBY's bankruptcy then something vaguely resembling what you describe is possible. Until then, I'd assume redemption would only come in the format of a credit bid or legal settlement, because as of now BBBY/Q shares are extinguished & dk-butterfly is a legal entity of the bankruptcy process.

Everything is speculation & we simply don't have all the info yet - there are too many positive indications, unanswered questions & seemingly nonsensical factors for this NOT to be significant. Hell, it appears even the big boys like JPM & whoever has Gasparino by the sack is clouded in confusion too. Those who know are battling major players and likely have obfuscated as much as possible, deployed red herrings, and proxied tactical elements through multiple layers - one mis-step and their play may be in jeopardy. All we need to do is relax, not get too invested in one particular theory (of many), and let the titans battle this out.

My comment was from a place of empathy regarding his possible situation, but it doesn't mean we should encourage Edwin or put his ramblings on a pedestal. Also autism isn't a mental disability, but schizophrenia is and is manageable with the proper diagnosis. I appreciate the pattern-seeking efforts (a symptom of schizophrenia - hyper-vigilence & pattern-seeking; blame snakes for honing our ancestor's brains), but his latest stuff is practically nonsensical - aside the already nonsensical Qanon stuff. I didn't realize he had gone off the deep end until reading into his Dr Eyeball thing this morning - I had to go to TwitterX for the full-res image of the texts, and I actually didn't see anything concerning in Eyeball's messages... Which led me to review Edwin's other stuff and was appalled. Everything I read of Edwin's tried to, poorly, to link every conspiracy theory thread to every other similar thread, and a dash of our stocks too. I'm all for entertaining the possibility of some theories where actual evidence exists, valid unanswered questions, etc. but his recent posts are just... Unsubstantiated and lacking in links between points A, B & C of any sort. I hope he is OK.

I'm not certain they're all shills, but mental illness is real. Take edwinbarnesc's latest post on formerly-Twitter/X (any of his recent posts, actually): https://nitter.net/edwinbarnesc/status/1748202509964120259#m - I've appreciated some of Edwin's stuff from 12+ months ago, but someone needs to do an IRL health check. We joke about aluminum foil, but schizophrenia is real and I bet Edwin's windows are covered in it. And of course these people spam their nonsense on formerly-Twitter/X (where these types congregate now), and dummies or users with ill-intent re-post on Reddit with headlines like "OMG LeadPaintChips_2 HAS FIGURED IT OUT".

What I think has happened is the sane, rational people have left the room to "touch grass" while waiting for actual developments, and the only ones who remain are the crazy people, or previously sane people who have gone crazy while staring at tea leaves. Its an embarrassing look for the community, for sure.

Also I'm pretty sure a lot of these individuals, such as Edwin, don't have jobs or lives of any sort - based on the volume & intensity of their of posts. I think we can deduce that disability, probably with a mental element, is to blame. Or they're being bankrolled by SHF to frame the community in a negative light. Maybe both.

Is this really just a screenshot, not even a link? C'mon....

  1. We're here on Lemmy due to a dislike of formerly-Twitter/X (and neo-Reddit, etc.).
  2. At least provide a fucking link, preferably to a copy on Spotify or Youtube - something which doesn't require an account to listen.
  3. Mind summarizing what about this specific stream excited you enough to post a screenshot?

This post is just lazy & useless. As an aside I really wish Sal & Jake2b didn't exclusively post to formerly-Twitter/X. It is a terrible platform with an incredibly large concentration of equally terrible people.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have stats on how many watt hours you collect from the 100w panel in the Dec/Jan (assuming you're in the northern hemisphere), and how those stats vary on overcast days vs sunny? I'm around 37°n and relatively sunny in the winter, except for a gloomy week here or there - an adequate battery buffer will be needed for those days, and the capacity can be shifted to ventilation fans in the summer.

While it does freeze here (occasionally down to 0° F) the battery will be inside the chicken coop where the temp has always remained above freezing. Initially my concern with lead acid was the risk of gassing into the birds' airspace, which is why I'm drawn to the LiFePO4 chemistry. Victron does seem great for heavier(medium)-duty scenarios like sheds or RVs.

The pi is a zero, which pulls about 25-33% the current of a 3b, and I've been able to run it off a 10,000 mah battery bank for over 24 hours. It is beneficial to have it running continuously during daylight hours only, aside from logging weather lows, but I can't think of a practical method to shut it down & bring it online automatically - at that point it'd probably make more sense to switch to an ESP32 device feeding data to a primary server inside the house.

BTW the adapter I use is Apple-branded but still has the same volume issue reported for generic variants - it must be a limitation of the USB-C spec. I will concede that wireless is nice for workouts, though... I use my wife's when I am in a rare music-while-exercising mood. She's gone through 4 pairs in the past 5 years, though, and the amount of E-waste is very problematic.

If they made nice wireless headphones where the battery lasted longer than 5 years, wasn't at risk in a hot car or backpack, and was also reasonably priced I'd concede they're better. Until then theyre not a better solution (unless during workouts) and contributes to e-waste. The adapter is apple-branded too... I guess something about the usb-c spec doesn't allow loud audio signals to pass through.

My parents aren't even old enough to be boomers. I'm just practical.

Great idea about tracking the 'choppa. It seems to use the Pompano Beach Airport as its home base, so unless specified all logs start there. N212SP is owned by "Airman Helicopter Inc." so it appears to be a charter chopper. It is NOT frequently flown.

Nov 24: Busy day of shuttling to/from places, but note the loops before landing in Pompano Beach:

  • Started outside Port St. Lucie, Treasure Coast Airpark
  • Causeway Island, stopped for about 10 min
  • Vero Beach, stopped for about 30 min at an undeveloped field (not airport) - near Game Street, FWIW.
  • Stuart, stopped at Witham Field for literally 30 seconds
  • Palm Beach Shores, flew two circles over the tidal zone at latitude of Bamboo Rd.
  • Ocean Vue, flew one circle over the tidal zone at latitude of Sevilla Dr.
  • Landed at Pompano Beach Airport

Nov 28: Flew laps over a nature preserve, landed in Ft. Lauderdale for 2 min, then returned.

Dec 08: Went to southern Palm Beach and without landing U-turned over the tidal zone (around Algoma Rd, Kings Rd. a block or two north of the infamous Mar-a-Lago) and returned. Joyride? Algoma Rd reminds me of algo...rithm.

Dec 14: Went to Pompano Community Park - literally a few blocks away (to pick up PP?) and then flew right back to the airport for the event.

I don't have time to survey the land ownership of each property around the circle points, being the only remotely interesting indications in the flight history. I've taken this as far as I'm willing to go without feeling crazy or stalk-y. County records typically contain ownership info, such as this example of one property near the u-turn on Dec 8: https://pbctax.publicaccessnow.com/PropertyTax/Account.aspx?p=50-43-43-35-00-002-0430&a=1282741 Mind you many wealthy people likely have obfuscated custody of the properties they own, so this might be a futile endeavor. No, Ryan Cohen or Carl Icahn don't live anywhere near where the chopper went, although I discovered they do live within a mile of each other (Indian Creek, Bal Harbour).

I don't use headphones often, but when I do its' via wired headphones. I had to buy a USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter, but the max volume is half of what my old phone with a 3.5mm jack could deliver.

Cheap wireless devices like headphones are way too finicky and prone to breakage, not to mention the battery lifespan is just a few years. I've had my nice wired headphones for 10 years.
