Agreed. I have seen time and time again companies going public and turning I to a steaming pile of crap. I have no doubt the ads are going to get worse and they are going to continue to make bad decisions. It's all about exponential profit now.
One good thing about the blackout is it brought this place to my attention. Made quitting reddit so much easier.

Totally. I haven't been back since Saturday. But I sure have been spending a lot of time here. I thought ibwant going to accomplish something during the blackout. Woops!
I had no clue this existed before the blackout but now i do and I'm not going back. I was addicted but this place serves my purpose now. The main communities I used reddit for moved over here or have a community over here now so I'm happy. All I'm trying to say is I agree and at the very least there are more people now aware of lemmy at least.
I also just built a new computer and the experience has been so much better and smoother. Built the computer to run AI models so it can definitely max out NMS. Having a blast after not playing since the start of covid when my old computer died.
I am likely going to play it as I have played most of their games but I'm going to wait a bit. Not in a rush. Let some of the bugs get fixed. I just got back into NMS after not having a computer for the past 3 years. Game looks great on my new one. So much more to do than when I last played.

I mostly ignored the aging stuff up until recently, it's starting to catch up to me which is why I am here I guess. Bit I've had thst kind of feeling about reality in general for most of my life. Just a whole lot of why does it have to be this way kind of thoughts and what not. Some days I just want to give up. Also, aging, especially as a woman sucks. Glad I found this group.
Omg! Just reading this fills me with anxiety and rage. I am so sorry you had to go through that! So scary. We have to go through so much and these medical "professionals" often make it worse. I truly do hope you find a better doctor and feel better soon.
I followed another group over here that shut down the subreddit for good so was happy to see the butterfly pop up when I was searching for communities. I hadn't done too much posting yet as i only found this group at the beginning of the year but its nice to have people that understand to talk too.
I also found this group on discord so that was cool. Anyways, happy to be here as I'm done with reddit. See how lemmy goes.
