For what it’s worth, there was never any pretence that he would release the project. He stated so multiple times throughout its development.
Got to WT4/LVL 100 solo perfectly fine. Couldn’t beat Uber Lilith without a group though. Player skill issue mostly, I didn’t have the patience to learn the patterns behind the one-shot-kill mechanics.
That's a shame, considering how actors involved in both films are out there supporting each other's movie. Nolan looks bad by comparison.

If I’m looking something up, sometimes the answer lies in a post or comment on Reddit. When that happens I revisit, however I’m always logged out now and never engage, comment, etc. beyond reading what I need and leaving.

I can navigate game worlds more effectively than I can the real world. I can struggle to visualise a local route but could probably walk you through several zones of a Souls game.
It’s still good to know, precisely because a lot of people drink a LOT of diet soda because it feels guilt-free.
It’s not finished and the performance is poor, so no it’s not in a releasable state even if licensing wasn’t an issue. It’s an incredibly cool project but I don’t think anyone should believe it’s a commercially viable project, not even the creator suggests so.
