I never understood this obsession with internet points to the point where people are willing to farm them. I guess on Reddit there was a monetary incentive, with people selling accounts with certain amounts of karma. Honestly to me it’s always been more like “cool, I got 48 upvotes on this post” or whatever, and move on with my day.
Yep, looks like the traffic is flooding in as we speak. Things are real slow right now, hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Not gonna lie, the temptation to browse Reddit is still strong considering I just joined Lemmy. However, I have made more comments here in the last couple hours than I have made on Reddit in the past month. I'm just hoping the transition will be quick and with as little frustration as possible.
Yeah but I bet that content specific stuff will get better over time.
I think website developers and ad block developers will be in a continual back and forth. Websites trying to find ways to disable ad blockers and ad blockers trying to find ways around them so they could continue blocking ads.
Yes, I can't wait to see where this goes! Lately I've found myself lurking and barely leaving comments on Reddit anymore, yet here I am on Lemmy commenting away.
