Metroid Prime 2 is the only main Metroid game I've still not completed. The whole light/dark mechanic was just so joyless and punishing. I'll still be buying this and giving it another go; a few quality of life tweaks and this could be enjoyable.

That phrasing caught my eye too; no mention of Switch hardware being playable on the successor. I'm just being overly cautious for now but given how eager Sony and Microsoft seem to be to drop physical games we can't assume cartridges will be supported just because they say that Switch software will be playable.

“It was a tough decision, because as a character, you see basically half the population loves him, and half the population has a different feeling of him. And we didn’t want to only cater to one side.”

So...you catered to only one side...the wrong one.

Why not just include a Froggy toggle?

Yeah, it can be pretty tough to pin down exact details about some blades. I've often seen details on a single blade vary from shop to shop, forum thread to forum thread. It's part of why I don't feel confident enough to say for certain what blade has PTFE or not.

As for the safety of PTFE, it is used for many medical purposes, including arterial grafts; that's about as close to the bloodstream as you can get. PTFE can give off harmful gasses at high temperatures, but it's stable up to 260 °C (500 °F) so as long as you don't run the tap too hot and you'll be fine 🤣

There's one blogger out there who does in depth blade reviews and tries to objectively measure each blades sharpness (annoyingly I can't find his site anymore), but at the end of the day no matter what a review says each blade is going to perform different for each person depending on their face, skill, razor, and 100 other variables.

My first double edge razor blades were Derby's and I found them to be an excellent starter blade; very forgiving of bad technique. I've still got a few packs of them and keep meaning to go back and revisit them after a few years of learning and practice.

Don't quote me on this but I think most blades will have a PTFE (Teflon) coating of some sort, but some have more than others. I think both Voskod and Feather have a PTFE coating.

I've not used Voskod at all, and everyone's face is different, so I'm not sure how good my recommendations will be, but for me personally nothing beats Tiger Platinum blades made in Czechia. They are made by the same company who used to make the Astra blades for Gillette before they moved production to Russia. Here in the UK I only ever see them in specialist shaving shops, but they're easily obtainable online. My second favourite are the German made Personna Platinum blades.

I know you said you didn't want to experiment, but I do think that's the only way you'll find "your blades". Even though I'm perfectly happy with Tiger and Personna I've still got a stash of 5-10 blade packs of various brands that I haven't tried yet; every now and then when I'm feeling adventurous I'll give one of them a try and see if it's an improvement on what I'm currently using. I know it's cheaper to buy in bulk but I'd never buy a 100 pack of a blade I've never tried before.

In my head the Paul McGann TV Movie is called "The Millennium Clock."

Better than the meaningless "The Enemy Within" title suggested by the producer.

Sorry, I missed this comment until now. Thanks for the tip, I'll check Zen out.

The multi window feature I mentioned in Chrome is for foldable phones. Chrome allows you to open two separate instances and have them on either side of your screen; much like you can do on a desktop. I love the multi tasking aspect foldable phones allow, but very few apps allow you to have two instances of them running like that.

Firefox because it's plugins make mobile browsing bareable. I have a folding phone so I wish that Firefox would hurry up and copy Chrome's multi window feature, and then it would be the perfect browser for me.

I use Firefox on desktop too, but I've been experimenting with Arc the last few weeks to see what the fuss is about.

Every time I see Marko release a new song or feature in a new project I'm thankful that his retirement was short lived. It's clear that after his break he's managed to find joy in music again, and the world is all the richer for it. I'm hoping he's got a new album in the works.

It's live on my Pixel Fold. UK here.

Not really sure I see the point in the lens controls. Does it change the way the pictures are processed, or does it just remove the ability to "zoom" between the lenses?

Maybe the dots had grown to hate the inhabitants of Finetown so much that they just enjoyed watching them get eaten by slugs. I mean sure they could just headbutt them to death...but which is funnier?

After the end of the episode I can totally understand that point of view.

Dragging myself through Dune 7 and 8 by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson was one of the most miserable reading experiences of my life...so I think I'll pass on a show based on one of their spin offs.

Every few years I try to track something down that I half remember seeing on TV in the 1990s, but I have so far had no luck finding it as I don't have much to go on. I think it was a UK made for TV production, either an episode of a TV show, or maybe a one off TV movie.

The scene I remember features the lead character in an office with his boss. The tone is generally surreal and dreamlike. The office is white and there is a big window. As part of the scene his boss tells him about the famous Chinese story of Zhuang Zhou's Butterfly Dream:

"Once, Zhuang Zhou dreamed he was a butterfly, a butterfly flitting and fluttering about, happy with himself and doing as he pleased. He didn't know that he was Zhuang Zhou.

Suddenly he woke up and there he was, solid and unmistakable Zhuang Zhou. But he didn't know if he was Zhuang Zhou who had dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming that he was Zhuang Zhou."

I can't remember if this is all in one scene, or maybe two scenes spread across the story. Either at the end of the scene, or towards the end of the story the main character finds a matchbox on his bosses desk with a fluttering sound coming from it. His boss is nowhere to be seen. He picks up the box, listens to it, and then opens it. A butterfly flies out of the box and out the window.

This has been driving me nuts for years. Was it a weird film/TV show? A comedy sketch? An illustrative part of a documentary? An advert?

If anyone has any ideas or pointers, please let me know.

Looking for some troubleshooting advice. I've had to spend a lot of time away from home lately so haven't been taking as good care of my Wilfa Uniform grinder as much as I usually do, so I gave it a rather thorough clean at the weekend after months of just letting it build up.

On Monday I noticed that when grinding it sounds like it's struggling; as if there's a bean in there that's catching and throwing things off every second or so, even when there are no beans in there. It's not a motor whine or anything like that; the only way I can describe it is it sounds like it's grinding on empty, and then suddenly coming into contact with something every now and then. I've opened it up and cleaned it out again and there's no signs of a anything obstructing the burrs, and no sign of damage. It still seems to be grinding fine, but the sound is pretty worrying.

I think I might have accidentally cleaned off some of the lubricant on the ball bearings, but this is purely just a guess. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

My house doesn't currently have a doorbell of any form (100+ year old house, I guess no one ever installed one along the way), and lately we've been suffering a bit of antisocial behaviour so I've been looking into getting a smart doorbell.

Despite both my wife and I being tech literate people the only smart home devices we have are a few smart bulbs which we control through our phones (both Android and Apple).

Given that we don't have, and are not interested in getting a smart speaker or hub, are there any video doorbells that send meaningful notifications to your phone?

So far Google Nest Battery Doorbell looks like it would be the best all rounder for our needs, but it seems that it just sends a regular notification to phone that would be stupidly easy to miss. I also looked into Eufy and found contradicting things about how phone notifications are handled.

Ideally I'd want to get a ringing phone notification that wakes the phone and displays the camera interface, like a phone call, that way it would get immediatly noticed and not just lost amongst other regular notifications. I can easily set a different notification sound...but that isn't much help as my phone is always set to vibrate mode.

It sounds like Ring doorbells have the style of notification I'm looking for, but they seem to have an awful reputation and we'd like to avoid a subscription if possible.

Is there anything that fits my admittedly limiting criteria?

Thanks in advance for any tips, help, and advice : )
