I thought the same thing but the WefWef app lets me save my 3 Fediverse accounts and switch easily, idk if it would be same for any other apps though. This way if an instance decides to defederate I can still access their content separately.

I haven’t used Reddit since Apollo went down, but I haven’t deleted my main account on Reddit because it’s a post about losing my dog and the comments people left really helped.

I’ve commented more on here than I did over the 10 years I used Reddit with a few different accounts. I like the Fediverse more, honestly, because I’m not drowning in a sea of voices and I’m getting similar, if not the same content. Remember Reddit was founded in 2005 and it took multiple migrations from other social media companies for it to get to where it was; we’re just getting started and it’s gonna be a good ride.
