Because they control the information. Can’t start such a riot if you are using their email services, social media sites, messaging platforms etc. also can’t start a riot if you don’t believe in what your rioting about, which funnily enough, they control the news and social media so you can not hear so much about that bad stuff. It’s all in the information.
It comes with more up to date dependencies, is less locked down, and has gaming tweaks and the like preinstalled and configured. Additionally as it’s rpm-ostree based it has a safe immutable base like steamOS while still allowing layered packages meaning you can install what you need to when you need to.
It’s not even always that bad, I’ve gone a week and a half before, could’ve gone longer but I forgot my lactaid at home. It’s just genetics and training how long you can hold it. These days I regularly go more than 3 days, usually twice a week.
