Edit apparently it's common for both to be called tags... Depending where your from... To make this whole thing confusing...

It's happened before in the construction industry very recently like the last time trump was president... I just can't find anything on it... So I can't really back this up...

As far as I know it's not required like it is to drive a car and it should be... You should be required to have insurance on each firearm that you own.
Gun insurance... Should be a thing... It's the single most compelling thing I have heard someone say about guns and wonder why it wasn't a thing... Insurance companies don't fuck around.
We need aliens in the near future like asap... if it was ever going to be a thing we need real life aliens. They will either kill us all or bring us together as a species and unite us all together... Maybe then we can get our shit together
