Same here , the other day I thought to myself "how the fuck did I get poor again??!!" Two years ago I was feeling pretty proud! I'm deep in the letter writing currently, one I'll give to my employer.

It sucks that those are our choices doesn't it? Live with a little loneliness but a lot of peace and joy , or not lonely but also harassed and always second, third ,or not even there.
Like you, I've left the entire idea behind. I dated quite a bit once I was single and was always disappointed. The pool is just not there, at least where I live.
I am way more happy though, and just made peace with things. None of us gets everything in life, I've had lots of fun and love my work. I think that is success at this point.

I went to join Planet Fitness, they insist on an app. They watched me leave. Kroger charged more than advertised, ooooh it was a digital coupon only available through the app. I left the item with the cashier. Order out? Only on an app? I guess I didn't want to eat that so much anyway.
Edit to add: I don't know how we are going to deal with apps that are forced upon you, that feels really gross especially if you are younger, like at your school. Forced commodification should be illegal.
Not going to do it, it feels controlling and abusive and I've worked too damn hard to let that shit go on.
I live in the south too and the last time this was a problem the water stank smelled like sulfer. If you've just moved one of the things I'd check is the water heater . That was the problem in my case.
This is exactly what I've encountered. I only opened Indeed to see what ppl in my profession are being offered in other places. Places with affordable houses. I'm worried my living situation will become a problem in the area I live, it's only getting higher.
Like you, I find employers are completely unaware of this and aren't offering enough.
They are also asking for more qualifications than they are willing to pay for, so far I'll bide my time.
The other annoyance is I can't ask for any feedback on why my application was passed over.

Aye, last year a poll worker started about my license not matching my voting address. I'd heard shenans were to be expected so I plopped my voter registration poll card down and she stfu. The result? I am now trained and going to work the polls. What did I learn in training? She was wrong wrong wrong wrong and what she did was harassment. But you know what? That's OK, bc now I'm showing up, maybe I'll get to sit next to her this year and turn her in.
Maybe we can get the gd bailout for once? Call it payback on their overdue loans?
