Until recently we didn't have an alternative. We do now, and it's everything that was good about Reddit, with none of the ads or authoritarian management. Plus, it's new and evolving - we can shape it to be what we want, not what the CEO wants.
I love the mental gymnastics which have gone into the making of this infographic. Gold!
I'm here for the long haul. Reddit was simultaneously the best and worst of the internet, Fediverse seems to be prioritising the best. Now that the apps are starting to hit the public, there's no going back.
I feel dirty when i follow a link back to Reddit. I'm loving kbin and Lemmy with no ads!
It looks to me one of those RF gadgets they hand out at cafes and eateries to let you know when your order is ready to collect.
