I loved xprivacy_lua

You could hide almost everything.
No app knew the other apps I used.
No app had clipboard access. when I needed to paste something I used Xposed Edge.
You could spoof a lot of info, GPS coordinates, IMEI ... The list goes on.

support stopped. I should check if there's a fork.

edit: AOSP permissions have improved and I now use almost exclusively FOSS apps, so I'm not worried, but I still miss the app.

edit2: there's a fork: https://xdaforums.com/t/xpl-ex-xprivacylua-ex-android-privacy-manager-hooking-manager-extended.4652573/

It is indeed very rough for now, but good to see another app

Even if it gets better it would need a good multi language (multi-lingual?) support for me to switch, which the official app did a stellar job with.

You may distribute the software or any part of its source code only if you do so free of charge for non-commercial purposes.

isn't that open source?

what a monster of a patch!

to name a few I like:

  • Read You, brilliant RSS reader. Now syncs with Freshrss. Inspired by Reeder on iOS
  • Voice, audiobook player. I use it in fact to listen to audio from youtube videos (downloaded with Newpipe). For audiobooks (and podcasts) I use
  • Audiobookshelf (needs server)
  • FUTO keyboard with decent on device voice recognition! (exists as a standalone)
  • 8Vim, weird keyboard I really like
  • Fairemail has been my trusty email client for years. Don't be spooked by its many options, once accounts configured the UI doesnt show unecessary stuff IMO. Some unique and useful features.
But if you want something simpler there's K9, now Thunderbird. Although I still experience the issue with emails not arriving on time with this newer version
  • KeepassDX, great password manager, good UI, keeps improving.

They're really skittish and will run away when I'm around, and tend to stay on the walls. Chances are you won't ever touch them by accident.

So I'm fine sharing the house.

Also I never seen more than one at a time. It hardly feels like an invasion
