I was so excited when I got my AMD card last fall, which was my first PC upgrade since 2016. FSR 3.0 was about to come out. Then it dropped, and I realized only a handful of games I didn't care to play supported it. Almost a year later, I still don't think I have played anything that uses it. The newer ones look great, but I guess it's going to be years before it's well adopted.

I'm done with Hulu... thankfully, I convinced my wife to finally say no to live tv. I switched the plan last month, and it's gone as 8/8. I've been with them for about 4 years now, and it was $40 a month then, and that was with extras like unlimited tvs and no ads. Now it's $85, and that's cutting the TV streams and adding ads back.

When it renews, I am getting just Hulu for the year, which is $5 bucks less than 1 month now. The only thing that she watches live anymore is news, some sports, and the occasional event like Olympics. NBC (or peacock?) is like $7 a month and should cover most of it. Sorry Hulu, you got too greedy.

I just got my first job at the time, and the first thing I saved up for was a PS1 and Chrono Cross was the first game I purchased. I loved playing the SNES era of RPGs and was going nuts when I saw they were making a 2nd game. Sadly I don't remember it being nearly as good, but I would love to replay it someday to see what I remember. Those games made me the gamer I am today and still love them, if I can ever find the time to play them.

And those kids are only watching it, probably due to the parent who can't deal with change, so it's in the house already. My wife is that person! 4 years ago, I convinced her to go to Hulu live instead of cable, but now that's pretty close to the price when I switched, so I finally convinced her to give it up completely. I am paying for 1 year of hulu next month, which is less than 1 month of hulu live, and deal with it.

She watches news and sports, but the news is easy. I found a few legit apps that offer up local news and even the prime-time stuff in real time. Sports will be harder, but she's not that into it, and as long as we know what we want to watch, I can probably find something in advance.

Did the exact same thing with Helldivers 2.

Pretty meh month, but it's ok. Can't win them all. Also, my kid is in love with FNAF, so it will be a nice surprise for him.

That's crazy. Someone told me McDonald's coffee is pretty good for the lower price range. I tried it a few times since you never know if it was just a bad batch, and I gotta say it was pretty awful, not for me. I just avoid starbucks because they think they can charge you the most ridiculous price I've seen for ok coffee. I have a few local places I will go to if I need something. Sadly, they are pretty expensive as well these days, but they are still cheaper than starbucks.

From the article:

"Subscription models have been gaining popularity among business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) tech companies because they offer a more reliable, recurring revenue source than hardware sales."

I buy a $50 mouse once every 3-5 years on average. Please tell me how whatever plan your offering makes my current situation worse. I can't wait to see price!

I will never do this, but let's just say I did, the only price I can see myself paying is $1 a month. At 3 years we're at $36 and apparently I have to buy replacement parts so to keep it anywhere close to what I spend now it needs to be $1 and somehow I doubt that's going to be the price.
