I use GNOME and donate to KDE anyway

It's astonishing that they were so open about it. They didn't even hide to try to hide it

Android 15 is not on fdroid. Android 15 is not an app.

I doubt that you should report bugs of a development branch here

And apple users had money.

Linux users still have money

Why?

I like a good extension ecosystem. For the mothership, GNOME, you can only implement one idea, maybe include a couple ideas but the boss or the group has to decide upon one idea. With extensions, everyone, even a maintainer herself, can write one. You do not have to talk to someone else. You can just do it.

As long as the api is well written, extensions are better than having one big mothership trying to accomplish everything and pleasing everyone. Imagine having an IDE without extensions. You have only the opinionated version of the main dev. With extensions, everyone can put his flavor on top of it without asking.

Edit: don't ask me why extensions and especially extension manager isn't included in GNOME itself.

Wow, that's the biggest innovation in GNOME since Paperwm

I use zerotier and afaik they can't access it, hence, I assume it's the same for tailscale

The government pays ludicrous amounts of money to weird software providers.

The guys who approve the software must make good side deals with them. I can't explain it differently.

You can root any phone if you truely want to. I just do not yet have the skillset to do it.

If you know how to do it, I'm open for it :)

I just discovered scyfin a modern theme for jellyfin. It's not listed in the Skin Manager plugin which is why I share it here.

I was just browinsg PRs of jellyfin. It's incredible how many PRs were merged in the past months. The linked PR is approved but not yet merged. I'm really looking forward to this new feature.

Another PR is also very interesting. It suggest changing the year of the collections to the most recent year and not the first year when the first movie of the collection was released. It is rejected but at least there is something going on. I only disable collections because it is ordered differently than I would want to have it.

They appear before all other movies. If sorted ascending by year it's really annoying that they are not sorted correctly although the right year is shown.

Tvdb, tmdb and imdb all show the correct info.i can't find a character mistake either.

Edit: I deleted the nfos and now it's back to normal

Internet speed prioritization in containers

How can I prioritize a container with regards to internet speed? Let's assume I've got two podman (docker) containers and both upload stuff.

Reasoning

My upload bandwidth is limited. One container needs to reliably upload stuff and the other doesn't. Thus, I want to prioritize one container over the over in order to deliver content in this container reliably.

Example

Syncthing can sync over a long time period but jellyfin can't.

What do you use as a case for the esp32? I can't find premade ones for it

I'm looking for a new terminal. What's your favorite one and why? Which one is popular?

Which switches can you recommend?

Can you get them in bulk for a cheaper price?

What's the advantage of the zigbees? I can get both bulbs, wifi and zigbee for ~5 bucks.

I tried reading a lot of articles/ posts. This is all confusing. Some write zigbee is better with battery because wifi lamps need to stay connected with wifi. But the zigbee lamps need to stay connected with zigbee (however they communicate. must be waves as well) as well, does it consume less power? What's the range of these hubs? Wifi is available everywhere. Do I need multiple hubs?

I want to connect them to home assistant, so arguments like zigbee can be better automated should fall short as well, right? I already have one wifi lamp which is automated enough for my taste. What shall I more automate than turn off at x and turn on at y.

And I haven't even read properly into zwave or matter.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
