I can see that, but I think the dramatic plot points and twists are a good payoff for the slower parts of the story. At least in the first book I got a little bored with all of the traveling, but when they finally get where they are going it picks up significantly.

I’m loving this thread. Lots of ideas for my next reads!

I’m about half way through The Obelisk Gate which is the second book of the broken earth series by N.K. Jemisin. I’m really enjoying it.

Pigs (Three Different Ones) or One of These Days.

I Saw a Pink Floyd laser show back in the 90s at the planetarium in the Denver museum of natural history. The show was DSoTM, but as an "encore" they did One of These Days and it was amazing. Been a favorite ever since.

My cousins had a ColecoVision that I used to play mousetrap and donkey kong on. The controllers were wonky, but it was a ton of fun.

On the NES I'll still play Duck Tales, Bionic Commando, and SMB3 pretty regularly. Since I got emulation running on my Steam deck I've been revisiting a lot of the old NES classics.

Ice Hockey was SO good! I still fire that one up from time to time.
