well i downloaded the "official" memmy app from the app store and it is working fine on lemmy.zip so it might be a instance issue. I"m in the process of moving to a smaller instance so that i can help reduce the load on lemmy.ml directly.

When I logged into Memmy this morning I read my feed then went to look at my subscribed communities and it says I have no subscriptions. Im thinking this might be a Memmy issue as all the other things work (I.e. profile, search and feed) but traverse isn’t working on the app.

I checked on the browser version on my computer no I can bring up my subscribed communities show up fine.

I honestly don’t know, but I did find this if you are working on windows or Mac. Warning this is probably. NOT free software.

It sounds like when you removed the efi partition it probably wiped the i/o info that allowed the drive to connect to the computer. Since it was operating fine until you removed that partition. The efi partition does hold important information for the ssd to be able to operate.

I’m not that tech savvy with ssd’s but logically there has to be something that allows the ssd to know to connect to the computer. When you think bout it pen drives have a partition you cannot delete for this reason after you format them.

Based on This info it seems you have rendered that ssd completely unusable.

Add to this not being worried about their phone more than the people they are talking to/ or spending time with

There is however a way of reverting this (for now?):

  1. Load about:config in the Firefox address bar.

  2. Click Accept the Risk and Continue, if the prompt appears.

  3. Search for extensions.quarantinedDomains.enabled.

  4. Set it to FALSE.

  5. restart Firefox.

It’s just big tech trying to get it greedy fingers on money anyway they can! I understand it costs money to run websites, but it’s getting to the point where a lot of sites and ad revenue setups are starting to have more ads then actual content, like back in the 80’s and 90’s. And do t forget about the scripts that track everything up do so they can pinpoint ads that will peel to you, at so they think, based on browsing and search history. Hell even brave is starting to put ads and trackers in its browser

The question is how long before cars are the same price as a house right now? Just 10 years ago you could get a car for around $22,000 now that same car is $45,000 and the materials are less expensive then they where then. Don’t get me wrong I understand price increases, been a thing for years. What I don’t understand is why someone would pay up to $75,000 for a truck that cost 35,000 just a 5 years ago when the quality has gone downhill. Why would anyone want a $1300 to $1500 car payment a month for a car that might last 5 years before breaking down somehow. And don’t tell me “it’s the cost of materials and labor.” This is nothing but pure greed. The labor force is making the same amount of money they were 5 years ago, materials may have gone up by 3%-4% over the same period. The only people coming out ahead are the CEO’s and banks.

I like the various ships in Babylon 5, but I also like moya from Farscape, the enterprise d from tang and who could forget the ship with HAL in 2001: A Space Odysee

I just read this morning that someone is spamming the hell out of lemmy.world from what looks like an attempted DDoS run with a ton of communities with a bunch of random post with no actual content.

Everything. They don’t care about nothing but making more money. Greed will be the death of everyone who isn’t already rich.

I would recommend posting this to the lemmy linux community @Linux

so I signed in today, and I am getting a JSON error on my screen. It says unexpected character Line 1 column 1 in JSON. Thought I should point this out so that it can be looked into, I am also going to dl the source code to see if I can find where/what this error is referring to. This was not an issue in the previous version of Lemmy it just started after the upgrade to Lemmy 0.18
