Wait, so you mean the absurdist comedy movie made by the guy that made Beavis and Butthead doesn't go deep into the causes of the issues experienced nor tackles potential solutions?

I had to go back and double check that this was the last episode with how anti-climactic it was.

I also thought that we had moved past the "I'm destined to destroy the kingdom" thing last week when she realized she was off book and didn't have any context for what was happening. Even Bakarina realized pretty early on that she was in control and could change things. Pride is dense in a much more frustrating way.

I didn't think I was going to like this one, but it really grew on me as the season progressed. Lots of cool world building, and a good message. I would definitely watch a S2 if they decided to make it. It's set up nicely for multiple seasons with multiple labyrinths.

I agree with both of you on everything. While the first part of the show was amazing, they really fumbled things with the middle portion up to the end. Even this last episode, while it had a lot of good stuff, kind of felt like "too little too late" and didn't really pack as much of a punch as it could have.

I also really hate how all these people who have done horrendous stuff are just given a pass. It's very frustrating and tonally doesn't make sense. It seems more like it's just convenient to ignore that kind of stuff (shades of abuse in real life maybe?) but very unsatisfying.

I'll give season 2 a shot, but it's going to be on a short leash.

I'm so glad this wasn't the last episode! I was worried when we got close to the end that we wouldn't make any progress at all, so I was glad that there was a next episode preview. I really wish CR would adopt the HiDIVE feature where it tells you how many episodes are in the season.

Another super cute episode today. These two are soooo close to figuring it out, and their interactions are so pure and cute that it really gets me in the old kokoro.

This show had such a good premise, and they did nothing with it. I was pretty excited the first couple of episodes to see where it went, but after the initial introspection and "i should probably stop being a creep" decision, it was basically a character line. Stuff just kind of happened to him, and he didn't really take any steps or do anything on his own. And somehow that led him right back to the ending we got. Not really sure what the whole point of the story was.

This one was so cute. Looking forward to more of it.

So, I started this one on a whim without knowing this was part of the larger series (Love Live I believe) and generally someone who doesn't watch idol shows. (However, I've been baited - in a good way- a few times - Zombieland Saga and Oshi no Ko I'm looking at you)

Overall I thought this was a really good Idol-adjacent show that stood up on its own. If I hadn't been told it was part of the bigger series, I don't think I would have known.I would imagine I might have gotten more enjoyment if I was able to pick up the easter eggs that I'm sure were sprinkled throughout the show, but I think that's the perfect type of spin-off. Whether you're familiar with the main story or not, you can still enjoy it, but if you know you get more out of it.

I did have a question though maybe someone can answer. Is this supposed to be like an alternate universe for these characters, where all the main girls are part of the same group in the main series and just play different roles here? Are there other shows like this under the umbrella? I'm not much of a fan of idol shows, but do enjoy CGDCT and SoL/Adventures like this was.

I am right there with you. This show is really inconsistent and that makes it frustrating. Like it feels the need to spell out certain things, but other things aren't explained well or don't make sense. I'm really curious if the source material is that way also, because if it is, I can't see why it would have gotten an anime adaptation. Internet from original world being added offscreen, how all the "testing crystals" just show no manna, but all of a sudden the same crystal type blows up when it's convenient for the plot, which one of him is at school at any given point, it's all kind of a mess. I'll finish the season, but if they announce a S2, I will likely not be back.

What a dark episode! Holy cow. I'm really excited to see how this gets resolved. I've really been enjoying this, so I hope there are more seasons coming.

I will say the episode this past week was much more serious than past weeks, and that might be part of it. Less of Kazuya being a scumbag and more just kind of wholesome. I'm sure it will get back to the usual "ugh" soon.

I'm liking this one a lot more lately. Especially enjoyed that she realized she's so far off script now, so her "omniscient" power can't really help her much anymore. I hope this helps her realize that she's not destined to ruin everything as the last boss anymore, but if she hasn't figured it out by now, I'm not sure if she can.
