Tetanus is fucking terrifying. I'm happy to have chemicals to protect me from that.

I'm expecting the most common phrase out of Mark Meadow's mouth the next few months will be "plea deal"

Both. The text data is in the database of all instances that are federated. Your account credentials are only stored on the instance you're registered to.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 10 months ago

Because this is not censorship. You're free to browse any defederated community. You're not censored, they're not censored. All the content is perfectly viewable on the fediverse.

Go join another instance. You can't enter somebody else's house and complain about how they don't want to invite the neighbor over as well. That's not censorship. Go to the neighbors house if you want to hang out with them.

But you've been explained this multiple times, so I'll leave it at this. Ignorance is not bliss.

The word "censorship" has lost all meaning

Nowhere in that link does it say what you're saying. Kbin was not named after the instance, but sbin. The instance is named after the gun because apparently it sounds nice in Polish.

Literally the first comment in the thread you linked sorted by Hot has a direct quote from the dev which contradicts your title.

To the surprise of nobody. Why try to defend the indefensible when you can just be racist instead.

The headline is always about what this woman says. Never about what she thinks.

Something to be learned from that fact..

It'll be an interesting tactic when he tries it on members of his family

If you're not carrying cooked spaghetti in your pocket I don't trust you.

Maybe I'm ignorant but I've felt like phones haven't needed screen protectors for a while.. I've had a GS9 for years with no screen protector and I have a very very minor scratch that can only be seen with the screen off and that's it.

I've never shattered a phone screen before, am I just an outlier?

The dev is not tracking anything. Google ads is.. and like the other comment said if you have Google Play on an android phone then you're being tracked.

I'd wager most people complaining about sync also have a Gmail account or shop on Amazon, or watch YouTube, or a million other equally or more invasive stuff.

This is a bit more local than US News story, but didn't know where else to post. The footage is crazy.

Four people suffered minor injuries, but no one died, according to New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

The crane operator is also reported (on FDNY Twitter) to be OK

Sorry if my posts to the community come off spammy, just want to build some content here for any new members looking for an Expanse community on Lemmy.

Chris Danelon, one of the VR designers from The Expanse television show has released another video with more very interesting content from Season 1 of The Expanse that I have not seen. The video includes interviews with the cast about their characters and their relationships.

He shows the hard to find clips from the Season 1 marketing material and then gives some additional commentary from his experience on the show.

This is my great grandfather's Elgin pocketwatch circa 1917. My dad gave it to me when I took an interest in watch repair and I repaired this from a slightly rusted and non-working state to at the very least able to run, but the time keeping is not great. It is losing ~50s a day, amplitude is 310*, and beat error is 5.5. I'm not at the point where I feel comfortable messing with the balance and regulating the pocket watch. I am just happy that it runs. I don't have a before picture, but I cleaned up a lot of green rust from part of the dial and case where there was a crack in the crystal and water must have gotten in. I replaced the mainspring because it was domed like an ice cream cone and gave all the parts a nice cleaning and lubricating.

He did serve in WWI in the 307th, but I lean towards thinking that this was waiting for him at home because the condition it was in was pretty good given the age. I also have his WWI map which he did have with him while he was in France, and I display together with the pocketwatch.

This is a short Sci-Fi story set outside the world of The Expanse by our beloved authors behind James S.A. Corey. I haven't picked up the next books in the series by various other Sci-Fi authors yet, but How It Unfolds was excellent and I am still thinking about the story many days later. The life lessons are valuable, especially for me at this time in my life.

Anyone read it? Opinions? Anyone read the next ones in the series yet?

I was trying to go natural, I didn't really have a plan just stuck in what I thought looked nice. Not as nice as most of yours but I love it. I was having a hard time getting a good picture though since there is light coming in from the windows.

Low tech and perfectly balanced. I have 10 rummies, a handful of male guppies that will be moved to my new tank when I set it up, an unknown number of pygmy cories, and a juvenile bristle-nose pleco.

I originally picked up this watch from Chrono "like-new" and it came basically new, like it was only worn once before me. I first got into collecting watches when my grandfather passed away and left me a very cheap but sentimentally meaningful Tourneau watch. Over the years Grand Seiko quickly became one of my favorite brands. I had always wanted a Snowflake and I began saving for one and then came across the White Birch on in a video from Watchfinder & Co. I basically immediately decided that I wanted to save a bit more for that instead. I tried it on a few times at Grand Seiko boutiques but was waiting for the right time for myself to get it.

I decided on the Spring Drive since I wanted that unique movement which I think makes Grand Seiko really shine. The Hi-Beat version is beautiful too, but I think the Spring Drive White Birch looks better overall.

Whatever it is, I'm here for it. I still need to get my hands on the new comic books and I will be playing the Telltale game. I'm still holding onto hope we will see an end to the series in some video format in the future.

I have some communities on my small instance that I will never browse, I want to remove them to free up space and not pull useless data (to my one other user and I). I click "Remove" on the community and then I click "Purge" and the community is removed and purged, but a few seconds later the community is back with different content.

I know I can block the communities to stop them from showing up on my "All" feed, but I have a small instance and don't want that data sitting around if nobody will ever look at it, as well as limit the small amount of unnecessary additional strain it may put on other instances. What am I doing wrong?
